Leak: Halo Infinite development in big trouble, MCC to the Nintendo Switch

So, I recently ran into a hot new link regarding Halo Infinite, and things aren't looking so good, unfortunately.

Halo Infinite, which is supposed to be coming out this Thanksgiving season as a launch title for the Xbox Series X, is actually not in the best state. There's a very good reason why the game is kept so tightly under wraps, with zero gameplay being shown and lack of details regarding multiplayer or betas.

Multiple sources close to me have reported that there's a lot of back-and-forth internal struggles going around in Redmond regarding the idea of having Halo Infinite delayed. Basically, many folks at 343 don't believe they can deliver the game this year while Microsoft is extremely adamant about launching the Series X with a new Halo game and will even release the game in an unfinished state if they have to (they have done this in the past; Halo MCC, Halo 5, Sea of Thieves, SoD2, etc.)

As you may already know, ever since the debacle that was The Master Chief Collection, 343 publicly vowed to never release another Halo game without doing a proper beta. They did this with Halo 5 and Halo Wars 2, both games having betas released several months in advance to release. Halo Infinite still isn't ready for even releasing a flight test/beta yet, and its listed for release 7 months from now.

To make a long story short, the development for Halo Infinite (originally just Halo 6) started before Halo 5 was even released. Halo 6 was going to have a 16 mission long campaign broken into two parts, where you would start off continuing Spartan Locke's mission and then the game would backtrack and play through Master Chief's perspective. Much of the "#HuntTheTruth" content that was never in Halo 5 was cut out and pushed into Halo 6 because Halo 5 was also under a rushed development. 1/2

Continuing from my first post...

Because of the backlash that came from Halo 5 and the rise of Halo YouTubers like The Act Man and Late Night Gaming, whose videos criticizing 343 and their Halo games had so many hits, Microsoft and 343 came to the conclusion that they had to scrap pretty much everything that was originally planned for Halo 6. This apparently put the studio under low morale, because many of the developers in 343 weren't fans of the idea of reverting back to the original Bungie way of doing Halo. According to an insider I was talking to, 343 wasn't a fan of the simple stories of the first three Halos and wanted to take a more story heavy, cinematic approach to the Halo franchise, in a similar vein as games like Uncharted.

To make matters worse, the COVID-19 pandemic made an already tough scenario for 343 100x shittier. It's possible that Microsoft could delay the Series X, I've heard from others, but they absolutely and definitely won't allow a delay if the PS5 releases this year.

Last bit of info: Microsoft is working on porting the MCC onto the Nintendo Switch. This is the second time reports like this have leaked. Apparently, they're shooting for a generic "Spring 2021" release date, although it probably will release in the summer.

Fairly reliable sources have indicated that Microsoft were going to port either Gears, Halo, or Forza to the Switch at some point.

Gears and Forza were never mentioned, but Halo has been brought more than once.
