Every time I see a TF2 source code thread, I just shake my head and laugh.
You severely damaged losers are literally the Bronies of Yas Forums. You know, that sub-group of Yas Forums kids who obsess over the preschool girl show My Little Pony? You probably don't know since all of you pathetic losers are far too busy fapping to apocalyptic TF2 fantasies and wishing that everyones computer breaks.
Why on Earth would a group of you no-lives cling havily to something as sad as this? Is there some sort of mental sickness in you goys? Did you not have a childhood? Do you not have a grasp on reality? How can you allow yourselves to deteriorate to this?
At first, I figured it was one lonely kid making these threads and bumping all day while crying in the basement of being such a useless waste of life... but then, I realized this isn't one kid doing this. There are at least a dozen of you in these threads that are getting rock hard over the destruction of society. There isn't any doubt that all of you autists are fat, out of shape, and friendless.

There's a single core file missing that's preventing it from compiling, but with so much shit available everyones pretty optimistic a band-aid workaround is doable. Then it comes down to dev teams and dedication.
We may very well start seeing community builds of TF2 that can actually change stuff instead of slapped together rubberbands and duct tape server mods.
To put it simply, with this code we can add new classes and actual weapons into the game instead of using server mods to slap models over dummied out shit and spawn ent_bullet commands.

They were working on a huge "Female Merc" update, a "Space" themed update, and some update to bring back 2007 graphic options all in tandem but literally EVERYTHING WAS SCRAPPED because Jungle Inferno failed to return the playerbase for the amount of resources spent.
There was some sort of big update being worked on in 2018, though the details are unknown, but when Half-life: Alyx had to do a full rewrite the entire TF2 team (20 people) shifted to HLA, and even after HLA launch there's only 2 people on the TF2 team with LITERALLY NOTHING in the works and the 2018 update scrapped.
Source code has references for handling female variant models and the 2007 graphic options, but no actual content from any of these scrapped updates are available.
