hello?

>- Competitively analyse other Games as Service in order to stay at the forefront of this market

Why are you surprised? Did you forget how it sells $3000 ships?

I find the drama around this game to be far more interesting than the actual contents of the game. Everything about is so lost in direction it seems.

What the fuck

How long has this "game" been in development for

9 years

So what can you do in the game in its current state?

Stop lying out of your ass.
It has been seven years and six months.

There are jobs that you can complete and planets, moons and space stations you can visit. You can also do freelance trading.

You can't make this shit up lmao

>mfw people fell for Scam Citizen

>Real life work stuff?
How weird; I thought my shift had ended a couple hours ago

By "jobs" I also meant jobs that involve space combat or shooting people. But yeah, there is a bunch of boring shit like delivering boxes Fedex-style or buying ore and selling it after spending 15 minutes in quantum travel.

Development of the game started in 2011 but I suppose it really started after the inital kickstarter when people continued to throw money at them even after going way over the original stretch goal.

When the game comes out it will be nothing but a walled garden for the KS donors: someone who buys the base game simply can't compete against a $3000 planet buster monstrosity.

The sweet sweet path to ruin.

>roadmap = gutted
>dogshit features like survival mechanics (sleep, thirst, hunger) going into the game
>'prison' being added - because being locked up for more than 5 minutes is 'fun' in the minds of these retards

and now this

>dogshit features like survival mechanics (sleep, thirst, hunger) going into the game
Source? I've spent 600$ on Star Citizen, and if this is true I might need to cash out and get a quick 1000$ for my ships which can no longer be bought.

>You will work closely with ... senior stakeholders to tune the game’s economy and retention.
That seems like an extremely bad idea.

'senior stakeholders' I. E. all those private investors that have been gobbling up CIG and are now getting to call the shots. the project is completely fucked, shills can't pretend otherwise now.

In 3.9 you be able to buy and eat food. There's a reason why exploration ships and such have kitchens and dining areas. If you are going on a long journey, you are supposed to stock up on food. Doesn't sound like a lot of fun.

they fluff it up as 'actor status' shit but its just 'if you don't eat you'll start losing some health' crap

Chris's "vision" involved you spending hours waiting for your ship to go from point A to point B, and you'd roleplay a stewardess serving other players drinks while waiting. Pic related, an actual pic from their design notes.

I worked with Chris, Erin and their mates long before CIG/SC was a thing. I still can't believe that they haven't done a runner with the money yet. Either they're fucked in some way they can't get out of or they're still getting some unfortunate idiots to part with large sums of money. I wonder if he'll be able to sell CIG for more than the $1 he sold Digital Anvil to Microsoft for when this eventually goes tits up.

Why would they want out? It's making more money than ever. Last year was the most profitable year they've had since the project began. It's a total scam, but it's a great scam.

It's Chris' MO to bug out at the first sign of problems. I was expecting it after the Crytek lawsuit but later heard through the grapevine that someone very high up in Amazon Game Services paid for all that to go away. Now I just wonder how long until the teat runs dry or some other issue comes along to make him move. My only issue is that I do have some good friends working for CIG (despite them knowing how shady the Roberts are) that I really hope don't get screwed over when this all fucks up.

>I just wonder how long until the teat runs dry
The scam is only stronger after almost 10 years, he can keep it going indefinitely. He's running a cult.

If Star Citizen is ever released (and that’s a pretty big if) it will have “micro”transactions on a scale that would make EA blush.
