I would be hyped for a new game but I dont care much if we dont get one.
better dead
kojima outed himself as a hack with v and death stranding
Better dead but I wish it would have die an honorable death long time ago instead of staying on life support for 10+ years
The storyline became unfixable after MGS2. That game ruined everything.
MGS2 was supposed to be the final game in the series, as to purposely leave off a unanswered conclusion to make players think about the game.
But Konami forced Kojima to make MGS 3 and 4.
Personally he should have stopped at MGS3 and leave it as a great trilogy than MGS4 only existing so Kojima would finally end the series by making Snake into a dying old man.
It had a genuinely good run, it always had to end some day and I think V isnt a bad place to end it at all, certainly could have been alot worse.
Should've ended at 3, 4 at most
It could have been dead after MGS3
>Still havent played any of the MGS
Am I missing out or is it boomer/nostaglia fag shit? Im 24 btw
Id say its pretty much essential if you like videogames
>only played mgs and 2 and twin snakes (and i liked it , 2 was so shit i haven't played 3)
33 here
You snotnosed zoomer goblin, we were shedding blood and tears in these games back when your mama was still wiping your ass. You will never understand. You had to be there.
You're definitely missing out.
Just play MGS1(or Twin Snakes), MGS2, and MGS3.
MGS2 and MGS3 are currently free to play if you have PSN Now and you'll have to either buy or emulate MGS1 or Twin Snakes.
>purposely leave off a unanswered conclusion to make players think
getting really sick of that. lots of directors do this for movies and games. It actually happens all the time now. I already think about things. It's fine sometimes, but I like some fucking closure too sometimes.
A month ago I would have said it's best left off dead but if Square can rebound from their 15 years of retardation and produce a masterpiece, then maybe - just maybe - Konami can somehow make a good MGS or Silent Hill again, too.
I mean, I'm not holding my breath obviously....
thanks doc
Yes, it could have been a lot worse.
And it was a lot worse.
MG Survive
I only watched the cutscenes of MGS3 when I was 26 and it made me fucking addicted to the series.
It should have been dead after MGS 1 chronologically. MGS 3 is fine though
Im 27 and the only one I’ve played despite being on Yas Forums for years is Metal gear rising
I keep telling myself I’ll get to this series eventually
The problem with it is that Big Boss was way too sympathetic in everything post MGS3.
How am I supposed to believe creating a nation of soldiers and stimulate warfare is what he wants? Fucker is too nice.
They also lost the opportunity for some rad DMC Raiden sequels. Revengeance was fun, they could have easily kept it going and not take it too seriously.
I’m ok with Solid Snake, his chapter was fine. It’s everything else that’s messed up.
While MGRR was a pleasant surprise, there was no reason to continue the series after MGS4
unironically this, true fans know he didn't fully take the reigns on writing the games until 4 onwards and 4, 5 and DS were messes story wise.
I'd be optimistic for a new Metal Gear if they got Fukushima back and it was something in the style of Ghost Babel. Non canon/alternate universe or even a new story. I don't like Rising much but I'm surprised it didn't get a continuation, seems like it deserved it/everyone wants it
Otherwise just make the HD collection available on more platforms, not sure why they haven't since it's such a low effort way to milk it
>How am I supposed to believe creating a nation of soldiers and stimulate warfare is what he wants?
It wasn't, at least not entirely. Why don't people get this? His goal was to mount a resistance to the Patriots and Zero.
I was done with it after MGS4 did what it did to Snake, so I've been moved on for over a decade. The only way I could possible be interested again is if they announced that they're remaking MG1/2/MGS. I feel like despite the fact that Solid Snake was the poster child for the series, he always got shafted after the first MGS.
I have yet to see anyone on here making that claim provide a source.
This. Even ignoring Raiden, MGS2 is what introduced all the Pariots fuckery, and was where things went full retard.
What made this series special died with Snake. Time to let it go.
I wanted the original Metal Gear Solid Rising that we were originally going to get that bridged the gap between MGS 2 and 4.
Which for narrative sake doesn’t make sense.
There wouldn’t even BE conflict between him and SS unless he did.
He had everything at his disposal to convince SS to join him.
>>Before you chicken fry me, i want you to just ask yourself why you look like me. Listen to this tape about The Boss I have, and ask your mentor whose RIGHT THERE if I’m telling the truth. Oh btw, you have brothers and this is your mom.
There’s no motive to kill this guy unless a visible threat is created.
Kojima’s scripts never left it ambiguous enough to make anyone believe SS had enough cause to kill him.
Zoomer who played it fir the first time in 2018 here. It's all worth playing. Absolute kino series.
mgs3 ruined the series
>His goal was to mount a resistance to the Patriots and Zero.
That was his goal INITIALLY.
Remember that he didn't let the world be. Not letting the world be instead of passively existing gave him a power advantage, which led to him unconsciously realizing that such an advantage would allow opportunity for fulfilling his personal interests.
This perfectly mirrors real life politician crooks.
I highly recommend that you play them. You can emulate most of them if you are low on cash and they are a pretty good time sink now if you are in quarantine. MG2 has the best music in the series youtube.com
No series is better off dead. But the Boss' story needs to not be taken any further.
MGS needs new setting, new characters, new plots, and new goals.
