Every single 1st party IP that touches the Switch goes on to set sales records for that franchise

It's not like they instantly go on to sell 10 millions regardless of franchise. Kirby Star Allies for instance is one of the best-selling Kirby games but still did less than 3 millions. Metroid would probably fare similarly, at least the next 2D one, which I guess would still be a great result. Maybe a Prime 4 with a Hunters-like online multiplayer mode could get pretty big though.

Unless they improve some of the shit they broke in the Trilogy release for the Wii I'd rather them not release it on the Switch. They nerfed Ridley, Omega Pirate, Boost Guardian, among others instead of improving the experience. Besides the inferior graphical changes and cut out title screens, I think I have enough evidence to say the port shouldn't happen if they keep all the shit from the Trilogy version.

the x-ray visor requires some degree of aiming and doesnt straight up tell you where something is on your minimap

Speaking of casualization, I hope they get rid of the checkpoints. Even just adding shortcuts from a save station to somewhere near a boss fight would feel much better than just spawning you outside their room out of nowhere.

Honestly I didn't care about casualizing item finding, it's not really a skill either way. If anything it only serves to waste time away from what the game's really about. If I can get an idea where the item is that's good enough for me, I'll look for it.
