>first game takes place in a somewhat realistic feudal japan setting
>second game has you riding robot powered horses and dolphins while you get chased by an effeminate demon riding a water motorcycle
What the fuck?
First game takes place in a somewhat realistic feudal japan setting
>somewhat realistic feudal japan setting
It still had Guildenstern around and the Genma being behind every great conqueror in human history. Oni2 just went more into what the oni civilization was like. Oni3 was a a better balance though.
MAGOICHI! WHERE DID YOU TAKE MY GIRL?!
HOW DARE YOU DISTURB OUR TIME
TOGETHER
JuuuUuUuUubeiiiiIiIiIi
I couldn't get into Oni2. I think its because I hate the face of the main character. Everyone else is great but the MC is fucking ugly
>Oni3
Ok, hear me out, what if we made some good japanese setting... but there is time travel where a french cop goes back to the past and the japanese man in the 2005 France?
But why France?
So you can hear the main character speak japanese and the french ones speaking french
Still a based game, but Italy would have been a better setting
the final boss in this game is AWFUL
is Onimusha 3 better than 2?
What do you guys think of Dawn of Dreams? I remember playing a demo of it as a kid and thinking it was cool but never played the full game
But they needed it to be France to have Jean Reno. It's entirely justified.
>But why France?
>So we can get the coolest French guy to ever live in our game.
fixed
My son
>is Onimusha 3 better than 2?
Broadly speaking, yes. The story is fucking ludicrous though.
Sounds fucking awesome and like a great videogame.
Remember, this used to be fun. Now we have cringe movie shit
dem negroid features
Damn, this dude is fuck awful actor. Never seen a good movie with him
Sounds like absolute kino.
>Never seen a good movie with him
shit taste confirmed
onimusha 2 was fucking garbage. 1 is still the best game and 3 is good to.
Pink Panther 2006 ;)
>effeminate demon
Gogandantess wouldn't be allowed in a modern game because he called women weak when he saved Oyu.
This is probably one of my favorite examples of voice acting in video games
reminder this is how reno got in 3
It was really fun, I hate how you can issen everything very easily though. I almost gave up on the game when I got to the part where you need to look at pictures of animals to solve door puzzles.
>tfw there is no port of oni3 and the og runs shit on pc
No Onimusha HD Collection is a crime against videogames.
I have Dawn of Souls but never played any other games so is it worth playing?
First two have tank controls but you strafe when locked on to someone. You can beat the first one taking your time in 5 hours so I would at least play that one. Also learn how to use issen.
The unfortunate hell of basing your player characters on real people. We're never fucking getting a re-release of oni3.
Yes, they're way better.
Still more realistic than taking down Gifu Castle by yourself.
>weapons progressively look more sick the higher you upgrade them
Is there a better thing in video games?
I didn't give the other characters enough gifts so I played Onimusha 2 pretty much entirely alone. It was for the better as I don't think I could play any more of it.
Maybe for you. I on the other hand have been training all my life for such a moment...
samonosuke is based on a real person. how did oni1 get rereleased?
It's been over a year since the first game got an HD remaster and we still haven't seen 2. I already played Onimusha 1 on Xbox so I had no interest in that one. Just give us 2 already so we can get to the kino that is 3.
1 is classic capcom goodness. It's basically just resident evil with swords so its really short but tons of fun. Genma probably the best version but warlords is way easier to get.
2 got really crazy but is basically 1 with some qol improvements.
3 is balls to the wall crazy and full on action game at that point. Still super fun as long as you deal with that in like a resident evil 3 sort of way.
I haven't played tactics yet.
Blade Warriors is basically Smash with issen fused into an Onimusha IP. It's got about the same replayabiility Melee did for raw content.
the first game didn't sell enough because zoomers need it to get remade without the tank controls.
they changed the controsl so the analog stick gives you non tank controls
He is japanese, different cultural shit. On a side note, the introduction of the best french actor really made 3 shine.
Also weapons were kino
>What the fuck?
2 words. keita amemiya.
Dojutsu won't be enough for this journey, friend.
1 isn't like resident evil at all at anything but a surface level of map traversal. 2 is proof that adding more content can make a game worse.
I never used analog controls for the remaster. Is it like REmake 1 where it turns the game into easy mode?
>He is japanese, different cultural shit
jubei is based on a real person. why havent we gotten an oni2 rerelease?
Because they worked out a agreement to license his image again for 1 game. Three requires paying more licensing rights to samo's actor PLUS Jean Reno's costs then factor in how much an onimusha 3 port would even sell. The fact we still don't have any word on a port for 2, another game that used real actors is probably an indication that the IP isn't selling enough to justify re-acquiring the licensing rights to said actors.
because it sucked
