I read the Manga for the first time a few months ago. God it was amazing. I got the nice ass hardback collection. Then I watched the movie. The movie is such a fucking let down. They cut so many iconic scenes from early on they didn't have to cut. That would have been amazing to see animated like the chase scene where the pill first appears. I understand the manga wasn't done yet, but the movie just didn't feel right at all. I did like that they humanize Tetsuo more by introducing his GF earlier on, but otherwise it just kinda feels odd watching it and how different it all is.

Also Akira is something that really needs to be a series or two films. First film for pre-apoc and the 2nd film post-apoc setting. I am hoping that the new series that is coming is closer to the manga because god I wanna see that aircraft carrier part animated.

>the new series
>that is coming
there's a new one coming?

>PIPE FIGHTS ON BIKES
You can't make that not sound awesome even with your reddit wojak, senpai.

I have very little hope left. They still didn't show vehicle combat.

Akira creator Katsuhiro Otomo, who also directed the seminal 1988 adaptation, will spearhead a new anime series for Bandai Namco's Sunrise that continues the story of the cyberpunk classic.

Otomo made the announcement Thursday at Anime Expo in Los Angeles, during which he also teased his third anime feature, Orbital Era. It's described as an action-adventure set "in the near future on a space colony under construction." His previous film was 2004's Steamboy.

According to Anime News Network, Sunrise President & CEO Makoto Asanuma said the intention is to "incorporate the entirety of the manga's story." The original anime didn't include much of the events from the latter half of the manga.

Nice black bars fagola

oh my!

how would it work?

Tactical espionage action as Kaneda. Force unleashed/Psi Ops/Control like sequences as Tetsuo

I love the film for what it is desu, the story is butchered but it's just such an exhausting psychedelic mess it's worth it for the experience alone. No other movie keeps getting more and more intense all the way through in quite the same way

>Sunrise
Its 50/50 whether or not they're going to fuck it up

Ill have to watch it again. I watched it coming right off the Manga. I love Psi power stuff and waited a long time to go into Akira dark. I was waiting and waiting and then the hardback collection came out and I got it for like 100 bucks. It's an amazing set.

While I havent watched the whole series. Gundam The Origin is beautifully done youtu.be/tzP4L90CCWw

Honestly just give us an anime adaptation of the Manga no need for anything thing else. Ill even take the cgi/cell shaded type deal thats popular with anime these days

>Sunrise
>50/50
Nah they're 100% shit these days

yes

>The part in the manga where they ram the ship into the bridge
>All the fucking detail in these massive destruction scenes that is all hand drawn

I really dont understand how one man can draw like this. I want to see him draw. He didn't have all this fancy tech when Akira was made. The way he can draw people and machines and destruction so well is crazy.

this and cowboy bebop are the only anime i can watch

Is there a single present day developer we could trust to not fuck it up?

Ageism and sanism: the vidya game

riot games

Get out faggot

I think that intro there is one of the best examples of 3D animation in anime looking good. Bite me

maybe i will good sir. maybe i will.

the animation is the only good thing about the origin

It was Moot's favorite anime

what? league got fucked beyond belief for years and now they want to venture out to different genres funded by tencent. it ain't them trust me.

>I have very little hope left. They still didn't show vehicle combat.

they did tho, it was a bullshit scripted COD pew pew sequence that sucked ass real bad

Yeah I was only really commenting on the animation. They have a manga to go off of so Id only really worry about the animation on Akira

That was just a scripted turret section. They've been talking about car combat as a real mechanic since 2018.

lol why? it seems random af

lol i was kidding. im currently chat banned for some gay shit cant even talk shit in that game. i didnt even say the n word or f word or r word

Nah, they'll fuck it up, just like they fucked the goblin slayer anime.

youtu.be/jafd97yJFOI

>he played lol
what a faggot

Watch Samurai Champloo

>Moot
Who? I don't follow e-celebs

I've always felt the manga was far worse than the movie. Manga is so bloated and stuffed full of pointless horse shit and bland useless characters, and somehow has a far worse ending. I felt like the film kept everything good and worthwhile about the story and dumped all the excess.

>facebookjak
game was dope now fuck off back to resetEra

I unironically prefer the movie more than the manga.
The manga just didn't know when to breathe.

you dont know shit about anything do you?

ooo is that road rash? fucking loved that game

i know enough that i dont want to watch any of the other shitty new anime thats out

>i know enough that i dont want to watch any of the other shitty new anime thats out
thats the spirit

i tried. i only like the hand drawn stuff. i saw that mutafukaz one tho and like that a lot.
