What platform should I play the original FF7 on?

I'd only play PC if they finished upscaling the backgrounds with the AI already.

I have the original game for PSX, but I'm playing it at the moment on Vita.

anyone have experience wiht playing it with the mods that change the character models? (like ive seen some that make the character models look like in the battle models)

how polished are mods like that? and do they still emote and express themselves like the og models

Unironically the best version is the Playstation original either on the system or a decent emulator played on a crt. PC looks like garbage and is full of weird bugs. Also there isn't a single graphics mod that doesn't look like shit.

With a few small exceptions like battle framerates, they're present in the playstation version as well. Modern rendering engines for it are a great, if minor, improvement.

I typically stan Steam for most things, but it's not the best version for a couple reasons, most notably is the lack of a fast-forward feature. Worth it if you want to mod, but otherwise PS4 or emulate PS1.

play it on the PS4 or Switch.
The PC version is ABSOLUTE DOG SHIT and 7th Heaven is a honeypot for spyware/viruses. do NOT use the modding because you'll end up pozzing your computer, and no Ccleaner won't solve it.

PS4 / Switch have the x3 speed button which is a godsend because the game is EXTREMELY SLOW, in motion, combat, scenes, everything, and it will save you literally 20 hours of your time.

It also has a no encounters button if you wish to be a casual and be like "im tired of the random battle encounters and want to focus on the dungeon puzzle/ dungeon" so the PS4/switch is friendlier for post-game grind and saves you time

THE PC VERSION IS A PORT OF AN UNFINISHED VERSION OF THE GAME FULL OF GLITCHES DO NOT DO THE SHITTY STEAM PC VERSION

If you really wish to be a mod autist, pirate the ISO, but don't use the steam version.
