7 is easily the scariest game in the series. I could see it being in someone's top 3 depending on what they look for in the franchise

Meh I found the remake of 1 on DS to be scarier.

I'm kinda torn over RE6
On the one hand, it's clearly shit in a hundred different aspects, but on the other, it's the only RE where I had fun just fighting things.

Serious question, my dad is deciding on getting either the RE2 remake or the RE3 remake and asked for my help in deciding, which one is better and more fun? I'm leaning on RE2 remake but i need serious opinions from others.

Its sure is in Mine top 3.
For me RE is always the perfect combination of tense and scary moments with cheese and Camp moments
REmake,RE4 and R7 have the perfect dosage of that.
And then we have awfull games like RE6 that IS too serious and games like CV that IS too zanny that can be annoying.Its all about balance

RE6's gameplay is amazing.
It's one of the best third person shooters you can play.

What it did to the RE community, however, is another story.

RE2Make is honestly better. RE3 is too short.
t.prefer the nu-RE

REmake2 for the lengh and extras.

Idunno man, I love the combat systems, but you can't really separate them from the campaigns, which are full of stupid shit like turret sequences and driving and walky-talky shit that just gets in the way of reaching the fun core gameplay.

Mercenaries is a lot of fun, but it's a score attack mode that relies a lot on memorization of spawns and exploiting the same tactic over and over again, rather than letting you revel in the kung fu gunslinger exterminator experience.

Yep but because of the bloated budget they tanked everything so hard we didn't get a mainline RE game till another 5 years. We were stuck with low budget games.

The new remakes don't have any of the mechanics of 4 outside of the camera view and them remaking 4 is just an (unbelievable) rumour

no you don't get it user they have to be the same generic slow walking zombies everytime

2 is only half good as well, anything past RPD is trash, 7 still has some memorable moments and good level design in the ship.

re2 has more content, re3 has more action and it's shorter

Remake 2 is a great game but it still has a ton of problems
>Ada and Sherry sections are a slog, especially Sherry's; symptomatic of everything wrong with modern games
>nearly no differences between scenarios which throws up plot inconsistencies, especially at the end with Birkin
>Leon and Claire barely interact with eachother at all throughout the course of the game
>no zapping
>the Birkin crane bossfight is terrible
>alligator reduced to an Uncharted-style chase sequence
>adaptive difficulty that fucks you over for playing well
>areas and enemies from the original game have either been cut or reworked to be noticeably worse (NEST is the biggest offender here)

It was bogged down by a large amount of scripted events, clunky first person mechanics and a shit second half. It did atmosphere well, but it was not perfect at all.
