I'm a patient man. As long as it's good, I can wait.
>le pogemon xdd
kill yourself OP

>survival/tactical RPG
how would that even work? what games fit into that "genre"?

just the "development process" or the gameplay?

Oh well there's still Elden Ring this year, r-right?

Try years

What the fuck is this game's development to need a complete overhaul? Are the directors/pducers/cretiveleads/whateverthefuck having massive disagreements or some shit? Did they change engines and couldn't port over the assets?

What's the possibility that they straight up scrapped everything id Software style to start up from scratch with a more focused vision?

digimon games are nothing like pokemon user, are you special or what

This seems like the most troubled development out of any Digimon game so far. It's kind of sad since the concept and darker direction seem really interesting, but this complete overhaul is probably going to trash most of it.

>Have a good formula with Cyber Sleuth
>hurr durr let's scrap it for a completely new genre
>Unsurprisingly run into development trouble
I don't understand

Fucking hell this game is never coming out.

This is basically Digimon World 2 - 4 all over again.

>Have a good formula with Cyber Sleuth
You mean a shitty copypasted generic jrpg? because that's not a good formula at all.

Get fucked also the new anime is garbage as expected.

>the new anime is garbage as expected.
lolno

It was at least better than most Digimon games and was a solid continuation of Dusk/Dawn's system plus they were able to make Hacker's Memory from it so was at least easy to repurpose. If it was given console game level budget and marketing it could have had its Atelier Ryza moment

You're being very ignorant.
They're working on a new Digimon World game, a new Digimon Story game and then there's Digimon Survive.

it's not even a tactical RPG, it's a VN with small tidbits of RPG

>only looking forward to ffcc remaster and survive
>ffcc remaster 1 month away from release
>gets delayed
>corona happens
>will likely get delayed again
>only other game to look forward to is this
>my fucking face
OH FUCKING BOY ANOTHER YEAR WITH NO RELEASES FOR MEEEEEEE

God dammit all I wanted was a Digimon game where the Digimon weren't relegated to just your little monsters that you use to fight or background props, and were an actual impoartant part of the story and narrative.

Fucking waifufags that came after Cybersluts, cursing this game for not having enough Yasuda bitches.

How much of this has to do with corona virus?
And how badly can the situation be that you can't even make a digimon game?
They'd probably release this game as it stands in the early 2000s

>It was at least better than most Digimon games
>comparing cybersluts to the rest of the franchise when most of the game are trash.
I mean, some games are good like world 1 or Next order but both Cybersluts were as trashy as the rest.
>If it was given console game level budget and marketing it could have had its Atelier Ryza moment.
Even the atelier games are more interesting than the digimon games in nearly every way with the exception of having digimon.

more development hell than corona, but corona isn't helping

Probably both, if the development process is bad whatever systems they're using to develop the gameplay is inefficient or so poorly implemented that it's better to start over from scratch.

Game's been in development since 2018 with very little info, it's been in development hell since it's inception basically, the virus was probably the final nail in the coffin for a break, delay, or cancelment.

One of the reasons I was looking forward to Survive is because it kind of looked like a darker take on the original show, but who knows how much this overhaul is going to screw things up. They even said in interviews that how the protagonist acts in the VNs parts of the story would later affect how Agumon evolved which could have led to moments like SkullGreymon

It's a SRPG with Adventure game/Point & Click game aspects more than just a classic VN.
Gameplay videos showed that you will get a lot of choices where to go, who to talk with, what to say, etc.

But considering that this was supposed a small-budget game, since they don't expect big sale figures due to its niche nature, I wouldn't be surprised at this point if they cancel the game. As sad as it would be.

I'm worried for the future of this game.

>unironically claiming bland corridors the game is good
>muh pokeymans

my point is that it's focused more on "narrative" which already means it's not as a big SRPG game as how many people like to spout
