30 years worth of games, surely there's at least one you like, right user?
What are some units you've used in the series that ended up way better than you ever expected?
Fire Emblem
I love my wife!
i like almost every game.
FE4 Dew is a unit that seems completely useless and unnecessary until you figure out how valuable money giving can be and how to get him cash.
I used to love FE and bought every release. Then I played that DS game that introduced dating and never touched it again. I was obsessed with this series but now I see Trio House or whatever and its like why? Why the fuck is my turn by turn combat game a sim now? A fucking classroom dating sim nonetheless. Fuck Nintendo for letting the fujos take over Fire Emblem.
As a FE boomer, the only games you should play is FE8, FE9, FE11, FE12, and FE13 and FE14 if you're comfortable with supports having less quality. Any other game sucks ass or you can watch a playthrough online if you want to know more about it.
Cormag. Dude does crazy damage with crits after promotion
I played Three Houses, Fates Birthright, Awakening, Echoes, and currently playing through The Sacred Stones. I liked them all but Fates felt pretty soulless. As for a bad unit that turned great, it's probably Neimi who turned out far better than what I would expect from an archer in a game that's not 3H/SoV
After carrying his ass through SD, I wasn't expecting Marth to actually be good in New Mystery.
On the downside, Caeda doesn't slaughter as hard anymore.
Archers in Fates were pretty great too, did you just not use Takumi?
>FE9 but not FE10
you gotta play both. You should play every FE game honestly.
archers suck in fates, takumi wants to be Kinshi Knight and even then he’s only playable on the easy routes. Niles is only good because capture is good.
Cormag was worth leveling the shit out of eirika to recruit him. And eirika is shit on the field.
Sacred stones was great
Trash. Heaps and heaps of rotten garbage
Why didn't we get any Anni news?
do you guys think radiant dawn should be worth a replay in regards to the bonus shit you can do, when i played the game for the first time years ago i actually used cheats to flag my file as a 2nd playthrough because i read all the shit about pelleas and was like damn son
i dont really regret doing it but i always wonder if i should have played my first run naturally without the cheats. i really enjoyed rd but fuck me i felt like it started to drag near the end of part 3 cause i never turn off animations
is conquest actually hard or am i just bad
what one will pull me into the series if i start with it?
>surely there's at least one you like, right user?
The only ones I truly like are Awakening and Fates, but they're 2 of my favorite games ever, I tried playing the older games but they just aren't for me, I can't bring myself to play linear games
Fates archers are amazing, what are you talking about? Takumi has an incredible prf, good stats, and benefits from 1-2 non-bow weapons being nerfed across the board and with how player phase focused Fates is.
Emulate it and you can speed up the emulator to get through enemy phases. Pelleas is worth it for dark magic alone, and the second playthrough is the true end. You should use a guide because part of getting Pelleas lets you see Ike related convos.
>no FE6
>not playing all the games
Unironically stopped reading there.
Conquest is one of the few actually challenging FEs, yeah. What chapter is giving you issue?
the defense one at the port
(also i'm using farm girl over owain cause i can't stand him)
Did you reclass her?
Chapter 10 is a bit of a difficulty spike. The trick is to go super offensive from the start and gradually fall back for when Takumi does his Dragon Vein shit.
Magic isn't that good in Conquest and Mozu will be extremely helpful for some levels later, but you really want to make her an archer ASAP if you haven't already done so. Ideally you want to do it in the middle of her recruitment chapter. I'd advise trying to S Support Odin with someone before you totally drop him though, his daughter is pretty strong.
takumi would be great in Conquest, the routes he’s on are geared towards enemy phase which bows don’t have. Kinshi is a good class though.
Brainlet
Big milestone anniversary came and went and they only had their rusting gacha shit to talk about. FEH isn't a fun game and anyone who says otherwise has committed too much time and effort for units that will be powercrept in a month. MAKE SURE TO BUY THE FEH MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION PASS TOO. Should've done this
>"We are releasing the untranslated versions of NES and SNES Fire Emblem games for the first time on the Switch Online membership program"
Wow, that was fucking hard. But instead it's
>Here's more powercreeping units in a game that's become so stale it can't hide its lack of story and content to use units in that aren't full of more powercrept (Lunatic Chain Challenges)
>But you get a free shitty unit, be excited
I'd even take a fucking barebones Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn port at this point.
My biggest "surprise, I'm good" unit was Amalda in Thracia. When I noticed almost all characters could stat cap thanks to the low caps, I realized the value of units was in personal weapons, move and leadership stars, movement score, staff use and innate skills, and decided to use all Leadership chars. She was by far the best - a Magic sword user warping around with 8 move without horse.
one of my personal favorite moments was putting Tinny up against Ishtar in the final chapter of FE4 to see her conversation, and then having her delete her cousin with a double crit
You didn't recruit Haitaka, right? He's very useful for that stage due to his stats and his rally.
My personal faviroute FE game?
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Hands down best
There's also the Dragalia Lost stuff, although that's just another gacha.
Anyway, they cancelled the 2nd FE event due to the Corona virus stuff going on in Japan. I'd say any game announcement now we'll be done alongside Nintendo's June conference.
mozu is shit, all the resources you spend on reclassing her into something useful are better spent on your already decent units and Niles fills her niche much better already
Dragalia Lost is my favorite Fire Emblem mobage. I'm glad they made Marth the strongest fire-element adventurer.
>feboomer
>only play magvel, tellius, awakening, and fates
fuck off faggot
It costs one (1) seal to kickstart Mozu into competence, nothing you need at that point unless you're running GK Jakob. Niles is actual shit as a unit and only good if you're playing with Capturing in mind.
The only games I have yet to play are 4 and 5. I tried 4 once but the scope of the maps on top of all the shit they throw at you in like the first two chapters or whatever was kinda overwhelming and I haven't touched it since. I'll get back to it eventually.
corrin can use that heart seal too. Mozu fucking sucks unless you play like a human snail in which case anyone is good because CQ lets you build shitty units
The allowed customization of three houses gives me xcom vibes, which is what got me into tactics into the first place. The entire series is built on a solid base (tactics) anyways, so most of them are at the very minimum decent.
Except the ones with child units. I can't tell you why, but I fucking hate child units.
>recommending New Mystery, Awakening, and Fates over Genealogy, Thracia, Echoes, and 3H
Holy mother of cringe
Camilla and Corrin both use it better than Mozu, and all the experience she gets would make anyone else that much better. Also, Niles is fast/strong enough on lunatic to do plenty for several chapters.
How about Echoes and Three Houses? As for older games Sacred Stones has endless grinding after chapter 8 and is fairly easy
>echoes
The REAL cringe
Three Houses was my first FE game and I loved it, what's a good one to play next?
Where is my remake, ISIS? WHERE IS IT?
Niles falls off too hard by the point where you actually want an archer. I'll give you that Corrin and Camilla both make immediate better use of a reclass at that point, but I stand by Mozu making a good number of lategame chapters much less of a pain in the ass. I say Anna's the best bow user honestly, but I don't want to consider DLC
Mozu only needs to seriously slow down and be babied on her intro chapter, I never have a problem keeping her levels up while staying relatively efficient. The first couple chapters after her first availability are tight enough that she should be able to get enough natural killsteals to level up.
What did you like about 3H?
