You know Square Enix pays people to shill for them right? Why do you do it for free?

One word.

So is that a major success or a complete failure? I have no sense of scale in these matters because Yas Forums keeps making threads with completely opposite claims based on the same data.

At this rate being the fastest selling Final Fantasy is all but confirmed, the problem is that production has been massively impacted, there are major droughts for the game. Being STILL unavailable on Amazon without paying 50% more for a copy.

Unfortunately all we have in hard proof is Japanese data, every other region's data collection has been ass blasted by corona.

What we can say is NA is the biggest region for support and in Japan it sold roughly 40% more copies. It is also lacking copies on shelves which is why Square Enix is reporting just booming digital sales.

So basically inconclusive worldwide, but likely has FFXV dead to rights.

Here comes low IQ FFXV fan confusing shipments for sales. FFVIIR literally could not ship more units due to production difficulties, some got the game early due to this too.

We haven't got EU and NA data 100% yet, but all signs are pointing to FFVIIR outselling FFXV in every region EASILY in HALF the time.

c0ns00m..

>Shipped and digital

You DID buy her game, didn't you?

Attached: 1587137166203.jpg (939x1781, 134.26K)

This isn't about shipped units, this is about hard SOLD data. Which why it's japan only, it shows that FFVIIR sold 1 million+ in 3 days vs FFXV which sold 726k in 1 week.

This includes both physical and digital units SOLD.

Holy fuck that image

Isn't 726k for physical sales only for FFXV?

FFXV sales were estimated at 695-700k across Xbone and PS4, Famitsu reported it at around 726k later due to inclusion of digital data.

Just like how it was reported first FF7R sold 702k units but after seeing digital data, they revised the data as in first post to 1m+ in 3 days. FFVIIR has been reported to have had a remarkable digital presence for obvious reasons.

It was fate this game would outsell FFXV.

why can't the left meme?

>all these people expecting a remake
Jesus Christ did SE ever fuck up this badly before?

I;m waiting for a sale due to backlog and how low quality FFXV was at launch

Yeah, it's cherrypicking at it's finest.

This.
>lying through teeth that this is a faithful remake (lol)
>hiding all the ugly and brown environments
>marketed 24/7
It was guaranteed to sell millions. I'm expecting a BIG drop for Part 2.

Of course, by her meaning aerisu

>Yeah, it's cherrypicking
Not him but please find a SINGLE (1) environment that looks good in VII Remake.
I am sure you Cannot

FFXV was low quality at launch because they were trying to do that stupid "Games as a service" approach. Ship first, patch later.

That's why FFVIIR is coming out in complete parts, so each part gets the attention it deserves. This was XV's biggest mistake that ruined the brand with Kingdom Hearts 3.

>That's why FFVIIR is coming out in complete parts
>complete parts
>parts (plural)
It is literally taking Final Fantasy even further in the episodic direction than XV

I don't recall them pushing this as "faithful" remake very hard, in fact I clearly remember one interview where they stated nothing was off the table for changes so I don't see why so many people are absolutely outraged since you should've known this was gonna happen.

>Swindle your audience by nostalgia baiting and promising a proper remake
>Excited fans pre-purchase the game or buy it on release day
>LOOK HOW WELL IT IS SELLING

Is there a more scumfuck corporation than Squeenix?

It's going to drop because it's going to be a BIG PS5 system seller, Sony will pay them buckets for it though.

It is also the best-selling PS4 game measured by the first three weeks.

thewrap.com/final-fantasy-vii-hits-record-3-5-million-downloads-in-first-three-days/

>I don't recall them pushing this as "faithful" remake very hard
You have missed some pretty big interviews.

Can something not have sequels? Literally no one used this argument in Mass Effect despite every part being 20 hours.

Do I have to cry that Lord of the Rings came out in 3 parts for the full narrative?

>BIG PS5 system seller
>Episode 2 of a multiepisodic game
God the PS5 is going to pathetic isn't it?

Attached: LIE.jpg (2321x391, 188.07K)

>Can something not have sequels
Sure, you could make VII-2 or VII Lightning Returns
But when you call something Remaster, Remake or Definitive Edition we have certain expectations, one is not to break it up into multiple episodes and the other is not radically change the story and genre

>Do I have to cry that Lord of the Rings came out in 3 parts for the full narrative?
Yeah, I remember when Tolkien called The Lord of the Rings Hobbit: Remake, oh wait he didn't.

Having part 2 being on the PS5 will be a big boon. FFVIIR shifted a lot of japanese PS4 units this late into its cycle, it sold 80k in japan alone.

There are some salty people for sure but most are going to want to continue the "trilogy", that is going to translate amazingly for Sony.

Yes, it is so faithful to the point that the original game actually happened.

They literally said it would not be a 1 to 1 remake as that would be pointless and that there would be new content.
As much as I hate time jannies, they never advertised this as a 1 to 1 remaster.
Niggers salty about that are stupid.

Holy fuck, BTFO

>Having Episode 2 being on the PS5 will be a big boon
For whom? The people who want a complete game? No. Fans of VII? No. PlayStation fans? No. Whom?

Attached: excited.gif (616x360, 2M)

We all had expectations, it's actually ok for artists or developers to try and push themselves further. Granted not everyone will like it but who ever does?

All I know is they've opened the door to something special, the next part will decide if it was a good idea or not.

Every time they mentioned changes, the examples they gave were minor additions, like the added characterization for the Avalanche members. No one could have foreseen the retardation that we got.

>He thinks the only options are to have a 1:1 remake or radically different game
Only the sith etc etc

>its ok for publishers to cut games into incomplete episodes and charge full price and mislead people with false marketing
Every time.

>the next part will decide if it was a good idea or not
Jesus Christ, this is nuStar Wars all over again.

Yeah instead it was called, Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the ring.

Want Yas Forums wants - LORD OF THE RINGS - PART 1 (BEGINNING ONLY)

>Wow developer doesn't mention the story has twists in a game about surprise twists and false perspectives.

>WAHH I DIDN'T LIKE THE STORY THEREFORE I WAS SWINDLED
pay attention to the marketing next time and not your own headcanon

>Want Yas Forums wants - LORD OF THE RINGS - PART 1 (BEGINNING ONLY)
What the fuck are you about?

We are receiving an episode release of a game marketed as a fucking remake and your argument is that its a sequel so it gets a pass? Square Enix wants to call Lord of the Rings The Hobit: Remake which only to goes to the ends of the shire though and has Sauron appear who reveals a new poorly written plot

It's awfully convenient that all the retarded changes are TWEESTS so they can use that as a defense for not mentioning them, isn't it?

Waiting for pc.

FF7R is not a sequel, it's a reboot.

>Sell product as "VII Remake"
>it is actually Episode 1 of a Sequel
>YOU WHERE NOT LIED TO!
Holy fuck

please direct your attention to

>he doesn't know
Oh no. Don't tell him.

siliconera.com/final-fantasy-vii-remake-producer-yoshinori-kitase-talks-vision-and-development-for-the-project/
Literally says the game will not be 1:1 and as early as June we already knew about the keepers so seriously ya'll just didn't pay attention.

I'm waiting, user.

FFXV absolutely BTFO. Just as expected and fully deserved.

kek where is the full comic of that? I forgot to save.

>So is that a major success or a complete failure?
>Cloud: That black and white world of yours.

The original sold 2 million in 3 days in Japan. This was during a time when only 10m people had playstations globally.

I'm coming for you, babe.

Attached: 1352127777379.jpg (428x1024, 80.43K)

I thought it was a sequel at first too, but after reviewing events it can actually still be 100% interpreted as a solid reboot without any actual implications to the original.

Here you go.

Attached: FF7R_pre_release_threads.jpg (888x1280, 924.11K)

But it was faithful, dipshit. Just because they added elements you don't agree with doesn't mean they didn't give you a faithful retelling of the first part of the original game. Again, stop believing your own headcanon of what the game should have been and look at what the game is

>Literally says the game will not be 1:1
So in your head the ONLY two options was 1:1 remake or horrible reboot/sequel episodic abomination?
Huh, that seems like a (You) problem, I could imagine changes without going this far.

FFXV had 5 million copies on the shelves day 1 and most of them were still sitting there when the week was over.

FF7R sold out worldwide physically.

Kill yourself Barry.

Way to go buddy, it took us 3 days to sell this game. THREE DAYS!!!
