Back in 4U they would be able to speedrun the entire game while playing blindfolded and they sorta never grew out of that mindset.
But hey, could be worse.
Yoou could be one of those suckers that enjoyed SA back in 3U and by now you cry yourself to sleep every night.
Ha haha
aaah
hah

You're a Sad Axe user, aren't you?

I remember really liking SA in 3U and now i don't like it anymore, why is that?
I don't really remember what was so different about it back then

>I remember really liking SA in 3U and now i don't like it anymore, why is that?
Post 3U it got nerfed into the goddamn ground.
Also post 3U there's literally no reason to ever use Axe mode so it became incredibly boring.
Capcom essentially broke half the weapon and never bothered to fix it.
Any old SA main has long since switched to CB at this point.

>one standard combo, one charged attacked, one shield bash - Red phials.
>Get into savage axe mode and fuck shit up.

More like 30 seconds nerd.

>beat the fuck out of a monster
>activate bankai
>jam glowing blade into monster's eye
>watch it squirm and fling around
>explode its fucking brains out
the only more satisfying weapon is the HBG

SA in iceborne is literally in the best state it ever was

>Get into savage axe mode and
miss every swing and launch party members lmao

I still have no idea how the fuck that thing works. I thought the color of the phials only determines how much they'll fill.

I pick up a new weapon each game. I learn it, I get good with it, I clear most the game with it.
But, I can't stop going back to unga bunga hammers. Where my caveman bros at?

The problem is not even in the obnoxious resource management
In iceborne SAED is nerfed to shit and outdamaged by virtually every other "big" hit of other weapons, GP give you godawful knockback even on guard 5 with charged shield against even the smaller monster hits and Savage Axe is so fucking slow it's only possible to use it on a fallen monster, except stun values of CB are nerfed to shit as well compared to previous entries and it needs up to 3 SAEDs to even drop a monster.
On top of it the clutch claw attack leaves you in axe mode which is literally unacceptable since there's a considerable lag before you can activate switch attack GP.
I have literally no idea what they were trying to do with this weapon in iceborne but unlike the weapons that gained huge meaningful buffs like SnS or SA, it feels and plays like trash.

and bow

I play Guild Charge Blade in GU and I think it's fun

bow bro

>needs literally no setup other than good slinger ammo
>still outdamages saed like twice
CB got really cucked eh

If you suck that's not my problem

More like melee got cucked, ranged weapons are retarded in this game.
CB is still good and a large portion of its damage doesn't rely on hitzones, too many are people shitters that are too used to the grug playstyle from world.

savage axe, man.
I've done 10k in training mode with a full savage axe combo.

Iceborne fixed axe mode so it's actually usable now

>savage axe
Literally impossible to use outside knockdowns and even then it will hit every shitzone on the way
You only have enough time for a few swings + AED during the full knockdown.

Is big damage dependent on am mount of ammo or is it specific types that do more?

>assuming everyone else is as bad as you
Stop posting anytime.

I've also done it on every monster save Lunastra because fuck hunting that bitch.

both
also stone does KO

I'm merely talking about what i'm seeing online
CB users are literally the worst in launching department since upswing has retarded hitbox.

why does it feel like they perfected it in 4U and haven't known what to do with it since?

New to the series and literally looking up guides for charge blade on MHGU. The simpler weapons are pretty fun, but learning the more complex weapon looks rewarding and fun. Like sword and shield and great sword in one.

What, you don't like managing 3 different buffs on top of phials to do mediocre damage?

The way I learn Charge Blade in MHGU was learning one mechanic, doing a few hunts, learning another and then repeating.
Doing it that way it felt like I was actually learning and getting better with the weapon, rather than just following a guide.

they could've just had it so that red shield also gives you the savage axe mode and crappy sword buff and just have it drain phials instead of being on a timer

it was too perfect in 4u it could out dps most if not all weapons, it could out ko a hammer, and it wasnt very hard to get the bread and butter combo. if we want to pity any weapon its the gunlance haven't played iceborne yet but goddamn capcom just refuses to let gl be good

hear me out; what if we scrapped the charge blade and turned it into a stake driver that's built entirely around shield thrusts and GPs

Just started playing this last weekend. What's a good weapon to start off with? I really need to rewire my brain because I'm trying to play this like Dark Souls and I'm getting fucked.

Wyrmstake and wide7 have both really buffed gunlance a bunch

it's fun

hammer, its straight forward and gives you skills that are useful for other weapons later on

If you have Iceborne installed then pick switch axe since it's literally Bloodborne trick weapon

dual blades

HAMMER

I want a weapon that is just a huge-ass pizza cutter axe
Make it reasonably slow but extremely hard hitting, with some sort of rev up mechanic that makes the axe spin faster and hit harder, launching you forward and to the sides from the sheer impact.

As a GS main even I can admit CB feels really fucking good to use even if the damage is piddly peas.

dual blades require too much unga clearance to really be good for new players. new players will 100% need at least 3 points in evade and divine blessing 3 to not get fucked before they figure out the weapon

hammer or hunting horn.

The damage output is one of the better ones for melee, the only problem with World's CB is that Iceborne fucked the GPs and that AED/SAED are too slow now to be spammed, which is a good thing on the other hand since it makes the weapon less braindead.
Other than fixing those I'd make it so CES is chargeless and lasts more, sword buffs are too good to give up and having to wait one second or so until being able to release CES is just pointless and adds nothing to the weapon other than the cool factor.
No reason why you can't just add that to the moveset without sacrificing anything, make it some kind of pilebunker Clutch Claw attack like ZSD, or make it so the shield jab can be charged into it if you have full shield buffs.

the real thing gating chargeblade is the sheer amount of pre-req abilities that you need to get
