Fallout 76 players are now literally being robbed in-game by Bethesda

>Friendly as they are, however, some of these new NPCs have been displaying a disturbing habit for thievery. Several players have reported that during events like Riding Shotgun and Radiation Rumble, NPCs have been stealing from them. Specifically, on more than one occasion when a player was killed during the event, they respawned only to find their best weapon—and all of its ammo, sometimes thousands of rounds worth—was now in the hands of an NPC.

>That's right. When you die, an NPC can take your gun and ammo right off your corpse and use it themselves—which is something even other players can't do in Fallout 76.

>Surprising AI behavior like this is normally pretty cool to see in games, but these NPCs are unfortunately not giving the weapons back when they're done with them. That's a big problem for players who have spent untold hours acquiring legendary gear that isn't easy to replace.

>Bethesda is investigating the bug.

It's always something with that piece of shit it seems

Imagine still playing FO76 in 2020.

Just when you thought Todd's Wild Ride was over...

>Surprising AI behavior like this is normally pretty cool to see in games
There's nothing surprising about this, NPC's have been able to loot corpses in TES/Fallout games since at least Oblivion. If the world is persistent and you leave a lootable body behind then NPC's will be able to loot the body.

>scrubs getting owned by npcs
based

It just works.

Their gross incompetence is not even funny at this point, its just sad that these are really considered AAA developers

Oh look the chinese propagandists are hard at work shilling against Bethesda again.

This will all serve as a basis for TES VI

You play for being cucked, you get cucked. It's like buying an ubisoft, EA or Blizzard game. You are asking for it.

This was levels of stupid shit they ran into while Radiant AI was still in development back in Oblivion, and they STILL have issues like this.
Absolutely fucking hilarious.

Coming to this board looking for intelligence is a joke. These sheep all think bethesda sucks because they were programmed. The real life NPCs I keep hearing about are all right here.

how the fuck do their games fuck up in ways they haven't been coded for? why the hell would an npc steal your weapons?

pretty cool honestly

I remember this happening in NV with boone, he picked the weapons and ammo from dead enemies and use them himself, i guess it works the same way now except with your character

>Bethesda's incompetent programming accidentally creates sentient npcs

So is this actually a bug or is it just "some pussies whined about this game mechanic and because it's current year we dumbed it down for them"? How does an NPC "accidentally" get coded to grab shit off a dead body?

>>Bethesda is investigating the bug.
That's not a bug.

Most likely old code from 4 where they pick up and use weapons on the ground that they never properly disabled.

I mean i wish that was just a feature in the game. They should let players also kill each other and have the ability to take all the shit you were carrying.

It was intentional in the game. If there are two super mutants one with a bat and one with a machine gun. If you kill the gun one, the other would run over and pick it up. Tbis was intentional and has been in the game since at least fallout 4.
The issue was that when the player dies they also leave a corpse but there was no flag in code to prevent AI from touching its contents.

>Buy Fallout: 76
>Get upset when it's a buggy PoS
Can we get Todd to send all these losers a video of him saying "Eat shit and die" on loop so they will FINALLY get the message?

Yeah this would be great if it was a known feature, encourage you to not just carry 10000 rounds of ammo with you everywhere

>first other players could steal your stuff
>now npcs can steal your stuff
The game just keeps on giving.

It's not 'accidental', they're just programmed to take weapons where they can find it. From dead bodies or dropped or in chests etc. The bug is they can loot your shit and prevent you from ever getting them back.

>sign terms saying that everything you own in-game belongs to bethesda
>WTF I'M BEING ROBBED

It's leftover code from other games. Classic Bethsoft.

The big difference is npcs stealing from losers in an online game where certain items are either really rare or worth actual money.

I love it! Players demand npcs, so bethesda gives them npcs that rob them of their best guns, knowing most f76 players are bad at fps games. How uniquely evil!

>worth actual money
They may have been bought with real money, but they aren’t worth real money.

Games nowadays are either:
>Cashgrab loot box shit
>Liberal propaganda shit
>Buggy as all hell shit
What needs to happen so that this type of shit disappears? Replace every game developer with conservatives? Let the game industry die so it can be reborn?

You have a point. Up until now their games have been single player games so there was no real point to prevent an enemy from picking up your weapon when you die.

Enemies picking up better weapons has been around since Oblivion. And I believe it has been since Skyrim that they are also able to disarm you and pick up your weapon.
