Blizzard always put horde first in everything. To this day, its gotten so worse that at this point it ruined the story. Alliance always got the worse end and if they got something they were ridiculed.

Horde have worse pvp racials, Alliance have worse pve racials. That was the way since vanilla. It's just that, as you yourself said, Horde are more competent players. Skill always outweighs racials.
