Was it worth it?

japanese women are surprisingly extremely capable. a lot of jap girls are great at video games, great at directing, great at music production - some of the most prominent composers are women in japan. i think there are way less women in these "high" positions in the west compared to japan despite sexism being way lower here. white women simply cannot compete

BULLSHIT

They aren't useless feminists.

>a woman directed a game for women
that's alright.

For me, it's Phoenix Rie.

What game?

Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Because they aren't demanding to be given shit for free because they're women. They actually work their flat asses off to make something as good as the men do.

For me it's Yuka Kitamura She is extremely capable, DS3's soundtrack sounds same-y but that is almost certainly Miyazaki's fault

Its ok if its a japanese woman.

who'd have thought that if you spent time being productive instead constantly complaining about imaginary men keeping you down, you'd actually be competent and competitive at your chosen discipline/s?

She cute

Cute and a hard worker, now patch in more dialogue and my cut furniture so I can fix my library
There's about the same percentage of useless thot NPCs to real functioning women, but it's easier to see only the ones of note from abroad. Being nice gets you places faster than being a scathing bitch though, and Nip women are as a whole nicer than westernized women
t. lived there for a bit

>Sexism being way lower here
It's called glass ceilings. The number one thing all feminists groups should actually focus on and destroy. You'll see female employees in an art department, but the moment there is an opening for a real position, they'll bring in some CEO from a failed company they bankrupted.

EA went on and on about women in videogames, brought in two of the biggest female producers, then fired them both.

If America actually gave women a real chance, we might see some kino.

>Kyogoku and Isao Moro served as co-directors of Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the 2012 sequel to City Folk, making Kyogoku the first woman to direct a video game at Nintendo Entertainment Analysis & Development (EAD). Following the mixed critical and commercial performance of City Folk, Kyogoku sought to "get back to the series' roots" on New Leaf. After noting that she was frequently the only woman on development teams, Kyogoku and New Leaf producer Katsuya Eguchi hired a team that was half female; she also encouraged all individuals on the development team to contribute ideas for the game, regardless of their role on the project. New Leaf went on to sell over 12 million copies, and was listed as one of the best games of the 2010s by IGN and Polygon; Kyogoku credits the diversity of the team for New Leaf's critical and commercial success, stating that "when you are trying to create something that will appeal to many types of people, I have experienced how beneficial it is to have diversity on your team."
>In 2015, Kyogoku produced the Animal Crossing spin-off title Happy Home Designer, and is the director of the 2020 main series title Animal Crossing: New Horizons. In 2019, she was named as Manager of Nintendo Entertainment Planning & Development (EPD) Production Group No 5 under the position that Hisashi Nogami was for 8 years before he was promoted at Deputy General Manager of Nintendo EPD at the same year as Kyogoku was.
So it's not just her, AC has a ton of female devs since New Leaf.

Let us ignore the fact that she also directed amiibo Festival.

Western women are just as competent but there's a lot working against them. For starters, women are naturally much less risk averse so for example in the 90s, the few women in the industry all decided to work for the big players rather than start their own studios. In addition, because of the size and instability of the industry then, most women in relevant fields chose to take more traditional jobs such as working for IBM or teaching rather than take a risk in a new field. On top of all this, unlike Japanese companies, Western companies don't promote internally. This means you have to switch companies and often move cities to move up in the ranks and until recently that isn't something women were comfortable doing. This all leads to women being essentially non-existent in Vidya management which creates a bro culture among management. I'm not necessarily criticizing that but the fact of the matter is it's not a culture that women are capable of competing in, and the few that do such as Amy Hemming are eventually kicked out by men.

I doubt it.

You've got Rumiko Takahashi killing it for decades in manga, Naoko Yamada blazing trails and setting trends in anime, Yoko Shimomura creating some of the most memorable and iconic themes in videogames. All that immense talent and set of accomplishments and impacts, and yet, those who cry about sexism and lack of opportunities never seem to turn their sights upon these ladies as a source of inspiration or drive.

>american women
>see some kino
LOL
they've gotten too indoctrinated by stupid ideology or politics to produce anything great

In the west women are treated like babies, they fart and everyone laughs and praises them. They need to be treated much harsher, in that way they can actually put efforts into something and finally do something good.

So you're saying because the West is too competitive and violatile it is more hostile to women iroincally?

Don't you fucking forget Michiru Yamane, goddamn her soundtracks are pure kino

Based. Same goes for Monolith.

that's not a game, that's an autism simulator.

So who sabotaged online play? Was it some bitter faggot?

you are fucking retarded
kill yourself

>drew art for and eventually directed the Phantasy Star series
>produced Skies of Arcadia and the 7th Dragon series
Ungodly levels of based.

>If America actually gave women a real chance
Why can't they make chances for themselves? Why do they need to be "given" shit?

And as such it's the second most sold game of this year in just a month.

I don't want to go full Yas Forumstard, but look at people like Harvey Weinstein for your answer.
