>YIIK
I think we're doing just fine

i dont get it

cyberpunk is popular
you must now hate it now sheep!! dont bring it up ever again

oh, i see its just Yas Forums shitposting, boring

What genre is this?

VRchads will bring back the genre

immersive sims

>cyberpunk is popular
Literally among whom

idk im looking forward to it personally

is it though? aside from people here shitting on it i never see anyone talk about it, good or bad

Seems like a vague genre. What are its defining features?

cyberpunk 2077 is gonna be part of the genre, people think it's gonna be action all over the place, but it's gonna be a slow paced rpg game with shooting much like Deus Ex MD.
I can already see the faggots and their "What went wrong?"

I honestly can't work out the genre. Bioshock isn't stealth, thief and dishonored are gaslamp but deus ex is cyberpunk. Is it just... fantasy punk?

i mean, there hasnt been any new footage in ages so obviously nobody's gonna talk about it until then
im fine with that desu, hate when devs spoil everything about a game before launch

If you can interact with the environment in any significant way AND have sensible character progression, it's an immersive sim.

Forgetting something?

Does that mean half-life 2 is an immersive sim?

>Not the first post from this IP.
let the samefaggotry begin

im pretty sure all the posts replying to me with le funneh reaction image from reddit are the same person

FPS, except Ultima Underworld and with RPG elements, the amount of RPG varies a lot though but the general idea is that you play a somewhat established character but you get a few options in how to handle different situations.

These are new IPs:
These aren't:

HL 2 does not have character progression. You get new guns but they all fulfill the same affect of eliminating enemies.

It's already got all the tell tale signs of absolute "woke" culture nonsense. Watch it have awful gameplay and a mediocre story. Staples of "woke" gaming.

huh, what do they have to do with looking glass style games

Milkers though.

Expand the "environment" part to NPCs as well. Immersive sims let you catch the attention of enemies without outright shooting them.

But my wife Outstar got to play an alpha version and she liked it :3

Hitman is still chugging on and they're pretty good.

I wish there were more stealth games as a whole. Why can't they get a new renaissance?

Attached: 47.png (1000x817, 531.6K)

the original was leftist as fuck, but yeah im a bit worried about the gameplay

Then would Breath of the Wild count? It has character progression and interactive environments.

>the original was leftist as fuck

bush-era left != current year left

You mean CRPGs?

that sounds super hypocritical but ok lol

Posting that emote here, ironically or not, should be a 5 minute time out, at least.

bioshock is not an immersive sim

They had far more in common than in difference. The biggest difference is that the Bush-era left had a cringe sense of humor, while the modern left is humorless.

Stealth has mainly become a thing you staple to rpgs, deus ex mankind divided did a great job with it, you get different dialogue just for sneaking past everyone. But yea, most stealth games are probably gonna come from indie devs who miss them.

I am doubtful that someone who identify as left in the bush era will sit right with the gender identity issues flying around today.

Those people would cry their eyes out in laughter if you tell them gender identities is actually a thing and is being treated seriously, hell even on Yas Forums some 6-8 years earlier we have already been joking about this like nobody will ever treat it seriously and look where we are at now.

The term is horrendously vague and leads to huge flame wars. But generally speaking they are games that try to 'simulate' open ended environments where the player can interact and dynamically influence the systems the developers have designed, usually coming up with unique and novel solutions to problems. Like stacking several boxes on top of each other to climb over a wall, blowing up a door using a gas can, or putting a fish by a fire and seeing it cook.

This is very vague and a lot of games may or may not come under this definition. They have high player agency, very interactive worlds and are pretty complex.

He turns him self in to a pickle user, I'm telling you, it's one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

The games might have succeeded on their own, HOWEVER: Deus Ex got bad buzz due to greedy microtransaction bullshit. Prey got bad buzz due to Bethesda screwing over Human Head Studios.

Lisa and yiik aren't crpgs, neither is system shock or thief. I must be missing a joke sorry.

>I am doubtful that someone who identify as left in the bush era will sit right with the gender identity issues flying around today.
Who do you think they support today? Last I checked, Nancy Pelosi still led the Dems, and many of the other prominent left figures like Colbert are still relevant as well
