can someone spoon feed me the changes they're making in this shit, i'm kinda curious but not enough to look shit up myself.

same as bfa except all of the classes are getting 1 or two extra keybinds.
Dont buy it will be dogshit. Balance druid was the only spec that actually got reworked into something good

No major expansion features other than the level squish. i.e. 60 will be the cap again. Everything else is just the same things from other expansions with a new coat of paint except maybe the "infinite dungeon". Whatever that means.

well shit. so they're sticking to the gacha style of time wasting and doing daily chores

AoE is now limited to 5 targets because having fun is for gayboys

Forget about it and ask again 6 months later since it's still early in development.

what the fuck for real? what possible fucking reason would they have for doing this

because blizzard are chinks

So abilities are limited to 5. Some are 8.

Current mythic+ strats involve pulling everything then AOEing them down.

>lets just fuck over everybody because of the mythic players
classic blizzard

The idea is making classes excel at different things, so establishing a difference between effective AoE and cleaves could shake up the monotony.

Yeah, there are still some spells that will remain pure AoE.

Stuff like Blizzard, Starfall, Consecration comes to mind.

There's not many other situations where you'd be dealing with 8+ enemies at once. I don't think most players will actually feel the change.

Just like that extra 1.5sec GCD, because people blow their CD with one macro

Alot i cant wait to dive into the newest expac

Wtf did they do to outlaw rogue.

Demon warlock

But balance druid is my main.

Shut the fuck up you chink lover

Farming old raids you do :^)

You can't be serious.

>There's not many other situations where you'd be dealing with 8+ enemies at once

kill yourself shill

90% of dungeons
many raidbosses (carapace, vexiona, hivemind, wrathion spikes just from this tier)
world farms
old raid speed clears
motherfucking PvP orgies

just cap it only in mythic+ then if its such an issue why fuck over everyone else

The big pull this expansion is an auto-generated dungeon that's supposed to run like a roguelike. You'll get a free pass at the dungeon every few days, but outside of that if you want more attempts, you'll have to grind for it. Reviews from testers so far are pretty positive

Additionally, there will be a whole Covenant system. It's basically pick one of of four factions, you get your garrison table and a special talent linked to it. Also some class related sockets to change abilities, though I'm not sure if those are just for world pvp

Some abilities are getting limited. Seems like mostly melee abilities and a few ranged ones (Frozen Orb), but most big ranged ones are cap-less still (Flamestrike, Volley, Rain of Fire)

One other thing they're trying to fix are no more time gated stuff, and no more infinite grinding loops (artifact power, azerite). Theyve recognized it gets players jimmies rustled, and considering their reputation is in the can after BFA, seems like they're actually trying to listen to feedback.

Hopefully this will continue the cycle of being the good expansion after the bad one

I don't believe this for even one fucking second, if they want to deviate from this shit they would have to pump out actual meaningful content that will cost money to make.

Gonna be a pain in the ass for anyone that wants to run old content and has a class who's AOE is getting kicked in the balls

Blizzard has pretty much always insisted that abilities function mechanically the same across the board. It does help the game feel cohesive, but it always comes at the cost of one spec ending up in the toilet for a patch or even and expansion because they're too strong in pvp or pve and blizzard nerfs one without compensating the other

In short, BfA's systems go out the window, Legion's system return with improvements and less RNG.
Classes largely remain unchanged except for depruning, making some formerly spec-specific abilities now class wide again, giving back iconic utility and flavor abilities and making some talents baseline, replacing the talents with some of the more popular Azerite Traits.
Artifact Power is gone but also sorta not kinda. Anima Power is used to unlock Soulbinds which are basically branching Artifact Traits with additional talent rows, but without the infinite grind for a boosted trait/neck ilvl.
From what I understand the need for mindless grinding of AP is gone, you log in for 10 minutes to reach cap and unlock a new soulbind, with catch up mechanics so you don't fall too far behind but will need a few weeks to catch up if you don't play for a while.
Legendaries will be back but are no longer RNG drops but specifically targeted and crafted with mats from Torghast, a randomized roguelite dungeon with multiple floor that gives insane buffs and is apparently very fun.

It's honestly looking really promising right now, with the major concerns being covenant abilities balancing and the key system for Torghast that is yet undecided. If you need to grind for hours again in uninspired world content for a key for a single Torghast run people are going to say fuck this shit.

Also visually this expansion is god tier.

You're probably right to be suspicious, but I'm hoping that blizzard will actually try and listen to players after the train wreck of BFA. They probably know they're on thin ice already, and a second bad expansion in a row would probably tank the game's reputation.

At any rate, it seems like their "loop" for keeping people playing infinitely this xpac is going to be the ability to grind out extra runs for Torghast. Considering how grinding that out will be related to spending a lot of time in the new Maw zone (which gets harder the longer you stay in there, reseting daily), it seems like there will be a soft-cap early on for how much you can do per day, which hard-cores might be able to circumvent with groups or good solo classes

Fingers crossed they try and listen to feedback, but I'm not holding my breath

It’s a fucking patch they’re charging full price for. A new low for them
