I prefer the PSX overall now, if we go by raw quality game output for single player engagement. Its home to a good half of my all time favorite games. But I'm glad I had the N64 when I did.

Even now, in the couple times a year when people are over and games are played, it's the HDMI modded N64 with 2 Brawler 64s and 2 Hori Minis.

Doesn't really count as a fuck up when it seemed like a very good idea at the time. CDs at the time were a still pretty finicky and load times were way too long. It was really all about the cinematic and the potential for CD quality that made everyone overlook the flaws.
