Bayonetta ruined me when it comes to action games, its control is too good and being able to dodge at pretty much any time makes getting used to other action games hard. I still instinctively press ZR to dodge in most action games because of Bayo.

That said it's still probably my favorite platinum game.

Based Kamiyafag. 3's frustrating for me because I can feel there's a good game under all of the annoying enemies and bosses, but 1 is the game that keeps me coming back more.

Irrelevent, jumping in at DMC5 is an utterly stupid suggestions when the earlier games are readily available. DMC5 expects you have played the shit out of the other games like DMC3 expected you to have played the shit out of DMC1 when it released. Really, if you actually want to get into this genre and THE game that started it all is readily available to play why on earth would you not suggest to start at DMC1.

Well, tomorrow you'll understand why I didn't upload anything about god hand lately.
Basically my muscle memory got fucked.

This. I tried playing 4 many years ago. I spammed streak and buster all the way to Agnus, then quit out of boredom. A couple years ago I started DMC1 on a whim, got raped by Phantom repeatedly, then got fucking good and played through the whole series. Currently playing God Hand and loving it even though I suck. DMC1 is definitely the best starting point because it forces you to learn the mentality you need for these kind of games.

Little tips to improve at it.
>Quick attacks on square
>Don't abuse the backflip
>Try using more side dodges

Yes, clearly the devs are putting in the time and effort to put these things in the game for fans of the game. It's like playing DMC at 3 and every single throwback and reference to 1 flies over your head (and there are a lot of them). Not necessarily an issue, but the devs are clearly putting things in the game hoping you had played the previous entries. Experiencing how the genre evolved wouldn't be a bad thing either.
