>enemies die in 5 hits
>player aqquires substantially stronger gear
>every enemy scales to compensate
>enemies now die in 4.9 hits
what is the point of this
>enemies die in 5 hits

How do you make an 0.9 attack?
numbers go higher
>enemies die
Why are games like this
Name 2 games.
>Player gets stronger gear
>enemy dies in 1 shot
>Game becomes a joke
The same way you make half a button press. You're a true gamer or not?
skyrim definitely does this at least
darkest dungeon too basically
>Enemies die in 5 hits
>Player acquires stronger gear
>Every enemy scales to compensate
>Enemies now die in 6 hits
I have fixed your game design
Enemies in Skyrim is scaled by your level.
What scaling is there in DD? Moving from easy to medium dungeon is a completely different concept.
>enemies from start to finish take the same amount of damage and you never get stronger stat-wise
>but you get plenty of new tech that can be used to kill stuff far more efficiently
the best
I mean sure but aside from insane crits the amount of health you lose and damage you deal stays pretty consistent
a level 1 skeleton and level 6 skeleton take the same number of hits, you just have bigger numbers
We've had half button presses since ps2 user....
Dark Souls 3
Fuck the haters OP you are 100% right and level scaling is a cancer in RPGs that makes progression seem and feel completely pointless and unrewarding. Fuck elder scrolls.
most games go like this
>game starts with strong enemies
>gotta hide or you get one-shotted
>peek out once in a while, pop enemies with 4-5 hits
>progress, get better gear
>enemies have more firepower, but you also have more armor
>go full guns blazing and dodge hits
>gotta land a few good hits to kill an enemy
>don't take too much damage or you will die but at least you can take a few shots
>Player gets stronger gear
>enemy dies in 1 shot
>new enemies are introduced
>different elements/techs required for some other new enemies
>you still fight the weaker enemies sometimes, but they try to swarm you so even if you oneshot them it requires a different approach
Sometimes it can be cool.
you get more abilities and options so you get exponentially more powerful if you know what you are doing
oblivion
fallout 4
then add a better sense of progression related to area
have some areas be tougher than others, have some late game bosses that are more demanding but reward you better
rather than having everywhere being pretty much the same shit once you hit mid-ish game until you hit the very peak and then you one shot what you were 3 shotting for the whole game
>Starting zone has a lvl 89 enemy just walking around like its normal
Numbers autism. Some players (autistic faggots) just like to see their numbers go up so the feel good chemicals activate in their brain.
>first playthrough
>enemies don't take too much to go down, good pacing throughout
>NG+
>enemies take longer to go down and hurt more but still not too bad
>NG++
>enemies have 15x the health and damage and everything is a fucking slog that makes it a tremendously unfun mess where you are required to get the strongest gear and min-max otherwise you literally can't enjoy the game further
GUESS THE FUCKING GAME Yas Forums
Fucking Xenoblade 2, they even had enemies with levels that high in the pathway for the main fucking quest in several areas.
>>NG++
>>enemies have 15x the health and damage and everything is a fucking slog that makes it a tremendously unfun mess where you are required to get the strongest gear and min-max otherwise you literally can't enjoy the game further
Borderlands 2 my fucking god the fact your forced to use a slag weapons to even dent people is shitty
>enemy scales to compensate
Wrong, faggot. You're scaling to compensate. The enemies are already stronger and you're just working to match them so you stand a chance.
fallout 4 doesnt do this, oblivion does this on crack though. if you dont poison every swing and use enchantments you wont tickle the enemy
>enemies die in 5 hits
>player acquires substantially stronger gear and new abilities
>enemies now die in 3 hits but their AI has gone from 80 IQ to 160 IQ and the maps are designed to be advantageous to them, not you
name 1
Borderlands 2
>NG+
>Enemy are a bit spongey but most weapons can kill them
>NG++
>Enemys 4 shot you with any weapon and your weapons take 90 shots to kill a common enemy unless you have slag
>enemies on highest difficulty react instantly and aimbot for the head
>no matter how good your armor is, and whether you're level 0 or level 250, you will die instantly to some guns
>the only way to not get your shit pushed in is to abuse cloaking mechanics and go for one shot kills
>but enemy health and armor is RNG, completely separate from their visual appearance, so sometimes that doesn't work
and that's a good thing
haha number go big
