the sp backlight made me never touch my OG gba again, which is a same because i prefer it's design in every way otherwise. but the backlight was just too much of a game changer, especially for shit like roadtrips

oh and internal rechargeable battery was a great feature too

the AGS-101 has a better screen, but the ergonomics are garbage, you're stuck with the rechargeable battery, and there's no headphone jack. IPS modded GBA is the way to go.

Same situation with me. My mom put in so much effort to make sure I could get a GBA and I always caught her looking at me through tired eyes with the proudest smile whenever I played it. She knew it was worth it

Fondest memory is emulating since the beginning. 2nd fondest memory is getting og DS and play GBA first instead of DS. 3rd fondest memory is playing GBA on the PSP

And GBA isnt just the best handheld of all time, but one of the best consoles ever

I've said it before but buying it at a flea market with a copy of metroid fusion. Played the save already there and it was some creepypasta feeling shit cause the stations power was out and roots were taking over. Officially lost it wandering into that spider boss. I figured out a bit later that I needed to start at the beginning

? Are you forgetting about the shoulder buttons? SF2 Revival and Alpha 3 worked fine in there and were good versions

How the fuck are you even supposed to play a GBA? I bought one and the screen is literally impossible to see unless you point it at a direct light source and even then you have to deal with glare.

GBA's sound chip is too shit for it to be one of the greatest. I heard its suppose to be a 32 bit console as well. Yeah, nah. 24 bit maybe.

When I got 100% in Kirby & the Amazing Mirror. I used to play that shit for hours every day. I liked replaying areas seeing how fast I could get through them with Wheel.

Just imagine if a portable had the Genesis soundchip instead....
