Recently, an opensource mod called "EmuTarkov" was DMCA'd by Battlestate, despite being within fair use and requiring a valid copy of the game, they took it down claiming it took away from their money.
Im here to spread the word about it and raise intrest in it.
So if you feel like helping out, spread the word, here is the website [justemutarkov.github.io](No idea how long it will stay up) and here is info about the DMCA claim [github.com
Battlestate and their DMCA
So this is some kind of emulator to build a private Escape from Tarkov server?
It makes a local "server" there isnt multiplayer, but you can do raids offline and save loot, along with mod the game, and customize diffrent aspects, such as AI difficulty(more then just 4 options), how much loot spawns, and all sorts of other stuff, not to mention modding on top of it.
How's that different from the existing offline raids? I don't own tarkov, I know it has offline stuff though. Is it just the modding potential?
Currently, offline raids dont save loot, let you further quests, or do much of anything other then practice and learn maps. EmuTarkov changes it to where the game treats an offline game as an online game. Its not a cheat mind you, as it saves your inventory on a local level, and the game itself never interacts with BSG servers, so no potental of a ban.
Its just making a server for tarkov on your computer, but nobody but you can access it if that makes sense,
Offline raids have no control besides AI. and nothing is saved in-between them. this was basically a Tarkov sandbox mod
Currently, offline raids dont save loot, let you further quests, or do much of anything other then practice and learn maps.
Emutarkov instead makes offline raids act as online raids.
It hosts a server on your PC that is local, and allows you to play tarkov offline, while still saving everything. Note that it doesnt interact with online servers, so its not a cheat.
damn that sounds fucking sweet. I may buy the game just for that. Well, not if it's gonna get shut down, but eh.
It will stay up, you just will have to look harder for it, I can send a google drive link for it, but I am a bit knew to Yas Forums if you cant tell, so I dont know if that might be against the rules.
It's not, but don't bother, I'm not gonna buy the game until it goes on sale. I've actually been waiting to get it for something like that, I thought the offline mode was that but just less indepth, but hearing it's just a way to "practice" seems lame.
Yup, pair that with an excessive amount of cheaters and a pretty terrible server, and you have tarkov.
It's shouldn't be that hard to connect a remote server using this EmuTarkov thingy.
I'm currently downloading it to see what's included in the All in one package the devs packaged and released on Discord.
It isnt that hard, if you need help, feel free to ask in the discord.
So it isn't taboo to talk about multiplayer? Nice. I'll keep lurking for a while.
Let me restate that, not that hard to set up and use. But multiplayer is not supported by it, if you can get it to work yourself, great, but its been avoided due to possible legal troubles, and to minimize possible blowback if something like this DMCA happened.
its not taboo, but more of a running joke, dont expect help getting actual multiplayer functioning, its not so much taboo as it is kinda frowned apon? Basically do it at your own risk kind of thing.
>nigita
every time
Cool. I was kinda hoping to host a comfy private server for some lads in discord, but I guess I'll have to wait until it actually works, because I hardly believe devs will abandon this if there's so much hate upon the official servers.
>and requiring a valid copy of the game
i remember downloading emutarkov before i owned the real game and it ran standalone lol
i own EoD now but yeah i don't think that's true even if they say it is
Is EmuTarkov that offline server thing?
I was considering downloading it just for the gunporn man wtf.
Well, currently, they may be forced to abandon it due to the DMCA, your more then welcome to build on it yourself, the Github should still have the source code, and the discord has it, its codded in C# mind you.
They recently required owning a valid copy as they no longer give out the client, just the launcher, which hooks onto the EXE if I understand correctly.
Why do halfwits keep giving these shitty devs money? It's one fuck up after another with these Russians.
Yup, and the people who come along and attempt to fix it get DMCA'ed, they dont make much sense honestly.
i see. still like all emulators it's not hard to just pirate the required files. i can see why they DMCA'd it, russians finna russian. pretty gay though, seems like a great tool for testing shit. that's probably another reason they're DMCAing it, they like to keep secrets from the playerbase and specifically don't want us to have a sandbox environment to research the game in. nikita wants everything to be "organic" discovery, despite having zero file encryption whatsoever lol
Yup, the server was reverse engineered through trial and error by watching what the client tried to interact with on the server, and was built from that. It can still be played as normal tarkov without any players, so I dont understand the whole "No organic discovery" thing
How can I download this?
DMCA'd, now where I can download the files needed if it's not on Github?
>most requested thing anyone wanted from Tarkov is an offline mode that saves progress
>be surprised when someone else picks up the slack
fucking lol
Their discord, look it up, easy to find.
Thx user, I'll
Do you need the original game with a license key?
Nope its a standalone client
>surprised
do you think they're surprised? They lose out on player salt, and people wanting bigger cases and spending more money on the game for them if there aren't gigachads constantly assfucking them because they play 20 hours a day. People would be content playing offline a little bit at a time.
Now I really hope Battlestate goes under. Scumbags have lightning in a bottle and all they do is waste it away
Honestly, I just want EmuTarkov to keep going, the game itself is great, sure, the devs are bad, the servers suck, but EmuTarkov is a diamond in the rough, its fun, I have spent way too long playing it, its just sad and upsetting to see it possibly go.
