I was going to buy a nintendo switch...

i was going to buy a nintendo switch, but since its out of stock almost everywhere and scalpers are charging 950 dollars here in my country for one, i'll get a PS4 instead, so please help me out here a little

>what are the must buy games for it?
>slim for 430 dollars or pro for 540 dollars?
>physical or digital media? why?
>can it be homebrewed to run emulators?

Physical and digital doesnt matter. Patches are the full game these days.

The disparity between PS Amateur and PS Pro isnt as big as the Xbox consoles. If you have a 4k set get the Pro, otherwise pass.

I'm sure you know what games you like.

i dont have a 4k tv but i do intend on getting one soon
my reasoning is, even the base console is expensive here, so wouldnt even be easier to go straight for the pro model if i'm going to spend big money already?

wouldnt it*

>slim for 430 dollars or pro for 540 dollars?
I'm pretty sure those are scalper prices. The Slim is supposed to be $350 and the Pro is supposed to be $400.

I’d just get the pro. I have a 4k set and it will look better even though most games are checkerboard 4K

PS4 only has one good exclusive and that's Gravity Rush. When you get a Switch I very Highly recommend Deadly Premonition 2, No More Heroes 3, Astral Chain and Xenoblade.

Also, get a base model or slim the pro is a waste of money

I legit just bought one for BB so this is biased of course and retarded. It sounds like a meme, but if you can withstand Bloodborne's frame-rate it's probably my favorite game in that genre. Gravity Rush 1(remaster)/2 are flawed but their charm and the movement options in 2 ultimately won me over (even platinumed the first, came close in the second despite not giving a shit about trophies in the past). Sometimes the PS store has some decent deals so digital is alright at times. I really don't touch the PS4 that much these days outside of fighting games so I don't know many recommendations.

the pandemic really fucked the price of consoles here in my country, which were never good to begin with

i'll just have to swallow it, things arent going to get any better in the foreseeable future, they will likely get even worse

Bloodborne, God of War and Persona 5 Royal should keep you busy for a while.

Nope. There's some references here and there, but you don't need to play Replicant to understand it. NieR Automata is an absolute masterpiece btw, you should definitely play it.

Basically just these because they are exclusives. Persona 5 also exists but it looks too gay for me to buy

isnt DQ 11 best played on the switch because of the QoL updates?

Yeah for several hours. Its got too many different elements of gameplay and all of them are mediocre. The clown area was cool but everything else was boring

>God of War and Persona 5 Royal

why the fuck would you buy a console at the end of its life cycle?

Remove the following
>SOTC Remake
>TLOU Remastered
>Death Stranding
>Ratchet & Clank
>Any Uncharted Games
>Horizon Zero Dawn
>Days Gone
>TLOU2

>xenoblade

>TLOU2
Movie game

I like everything else on the list

Very solid list, I'd add Until Dawn and Wipeout to that

the PS5 is still at least another 8 months away and theres no saying it wont come with an incredibly inflated price in my country, not to mention that buying consoles on day 1 is usually not a good idea

Must buy
Bloodborne
Persona 5 The Royal
God of War
Spider-Man
Uncharted 4
FF7 Remake
