It would take place after the audio drama in the HD collection, which is a sequel to that novel. So yes. I can already see the ending considering Sin came back, it'll be exactly the same as the original with Tidus disappearing at the end considering he's like an unsent now.

By high fantasy I mean a historically (at least vaguely medieval) inspired setting, FF X’s culture still is pretty modern compared to something like 12 which is high-tech but Ivalice’s culture is still grounded in the ancient and renaissance middle-eastern setting.
Sorry, not a conservative in anyway or anything but modern culture doesn’t appeal to me.

Why did they make X-2 instead of X-0? X had one of the most terminal endings in the series. It also teed up for a deeper exploration of the previous cycle. Yet they blow off the previous cycle and instead make the most tonally dissonant sequel of all time.

Most FF games are high-fantasy, just the stuff that Kitase is involved in isn’t. 1-5, 9, 11, 12 and 14 are high-fantasy but we haven’t gotten a single-player high fantasy game since 12 nor a Final Fantasy game without extreme levels of technology since 11.
