stay mad, second best game released this year, and 3rd best final fantasy.

Seems like majority of normalfags are okay with the changes. Even Jim Sterling and Angry Joe are saying its genius.

At this point Im just glad I dodged that bullet.

Should look more into meds for your autism

It's been 19 years. I'm still mad. How could they fuck this up so bad?

>How could they fuck this up so bad?
They didn't. You got filtered hard.

>normalfags are okay with the changes
You really think normalfags bought this game?

I enjoyed it. A questionable ending isn't gonna ruin the other 95% of the game that was pure bliss for me.

>muhh ecelebs like it
They should have honestly just done a straight remake, this shit is stupid

You're a retard

And you're upset about a video game

Nioh 2, Animal Crossing, Ori 2, and Half Life: Alyx were all better than this.

Game wasn't terrible though

I'm always sad when I see wasted potential. It wasn't supposed to be like this my dude

that ending was a masterpiece fuck u

What's wrong with FFX?

I hated FFX the first time I played it, when it first came out back in 2001. I hated how linear it was, how much it abandoned stuff like the world map, all of the sense of adventure and exploration. Then I replayed it around a year later and loved it, because it does its particular thing really well. Once I knew what it was and what to expect, I could appreciate it on its own accord.

That's how I feel about FF7R. It is in no way shape or form in the mold of a classic Squaresoft RPG, but it does what it does really well. It's basically a Sony/Naught Dog--style narrative adventure game, but with action RPG combat instead of 3rd person shooting, and all of the po-faced self-seriousness replaced with absurd anime shit.

It's deeply flawed, it's not a masterpiece, but I can't remember the last "triple A" game that I could just lose hours playing. Hell, I can't remember the last game period where I actually wanted to watch the cutscenes, where I actually cared about the characters. It's a good time.

What even is Jenova and why should I care?

I would love if they'd instead do this remake style with FFX. Would make for a much better game

Jenova is basically The Thing. She is literally from space and she wiped out the ancients. Shinra creates SOLDIERS and other experiments using her cells after they dug her up. Sephiroth is unique in that he was experimented on while still in the womb.

Stop asking for remakes of fucking PS2 games, they hold up fine. Fuck you and fuck Capcom.

SOLDIERs are not routinely injected with Jenova cells m8. They are Mako enhanced. Cloud, Zack, and Sephiroth were the only ones to ever get the special sauce, Sephiroth having gotten it in Lucretia's pussy.

Jenova is an alien entity that landed on a meteor on planet Gaia thousands of years ago ending the Cetra race. Shinra scientists found her remains in the Northern Crater and they've been doing experiments infusing her cells on humans ever since. Sephiroth was infused with her cells when he was still a fetus in Lucrecia's womb. Fun thing is when she came in contact with the Lifestream (when Sephiroth fell in it) she's been capable of creating hallucinations and make clones of Sephiroth do things for her, basically command them. That's why Cloud gave the Black Materia to Sephi at the end of Disc 2 because HE was also a "clone" of Sephiroth too bad we're never going to see that now, fucking Nomura

I’m not mad, just disappointed. It’s SE, I kind of expected them to fuck up. But not like this. It’s so goddamn close to being amazing. There’s quite a few basic things throughout the drag the game down, but you throw on the awful metanarrative and eghhh

I actually like that it will be different, but the Time Jannies are fucking dumb.
How do they make sense to people who play FF7 the first time?

They didn't make the game for us

It was a prime example of focusing on TECHNOLOGY rather than making a good game. That's why you had hallways and no world map, too many minigames and then the highlight being voice acting.

It was an incredibly experience from beginning to end; you're just dead inside.

not a clone, a copy. as in, using the same process

>from beginning
I'll give you that
>to end
Hell nah

>biased e-celebs who have to worship developers so they don't get blacklisted are who we should genuinely trust the opinions of
no thanks

Pretty sure they made it to make as much money as possible

what we got was much better than a straight remake could have been; new content is better than trying to replace and retcon old content

They don’t. Anecdotal, but I’ve been kind of wandering the internet seeing what people think and I have seen a shitload of “first time” FF players who just kinda write the weird shit off as something to be explained in the next game. Which is a weird perspective for a new fan, to accept the $60 product isn’t a full story.

The only thing that sucks is we have to wait for X amount of parts. I thought I'd maybe come around to SE's assessment that "that the game needs multiple parts to fit our vision", but I still don't really agree.

>Jim Sterling
>Angry Joe
Those dudes are fucking retarded, though. They have movieblob levels of bad takes

I liked the ending. It retroactively made the ghosts in earlier scenes ok. I'm interested where they take the plot in the next part.

>first time” FF players
These people are runing FF; why the fuck does Square cater to them?

I replayed the whole game on Hard and they did make more sense the second time around, but holy shit the final set of bosses are just stupid. Also Zack

>I'm interested where they take the plot in the next part.
Not to single you out, but I swear to fucking god everyone phrases it that way and it’s bugging the shit out of me

>caring what plebians who never played the original think
Wew

Comparing this to the original is like being a Roman scholar watching barbarians shit in the streets and use the Flavian Amphitheater as a pigsty.

Simple curiosity my dude. No need to pop a blood vessel.

>Angry Joe
The guy praises every hyped up videogame and gives it raving scores in his reviews, but when those games get mentioned later in his newer videos or streams, he calls them shit and basically says what's the current populare take on them. He praised the writing in Borderlands 2, for fuck's sake

I’m fine, it’s just disconcerting to see people say the exact same thing over and over across the breadth of the internet

i'm not a big fan of the whole "parts" system either, but i think the rest of the game will be released faster, and i understand why it was done this way. by marketing this game as FF7R and making the first major deviation at the very end, it quiets fanboy rage, whereas if it was a full release, like 75% of the game would be unrecognizable from the original and people would be even more pissed

I'll give you that.

Will have 100hrs when im done with it pretty gud

I’m not happy about what they did, but that thought it fucking hilarious. Imagine the rage

The waiting is the worst part next to the unknown. I really hope they don't really stray any further fron the OG story, and that there is no more "fighting fate" shenanigans. Although...I guess it's a little late to be saying that, eh. The floodgates have been opened.

by not packing in at least a digital copy of the original Final Fantasy VII for even really newcomers to understand what the timeghosts are on about

>Animal Crossing
Uhhhhh
