not even nintendo knows how to make an n64 emulator. look at how shabby the wii/wiiu virtual console is
because the switch is inferior
Nintendo stole all the code for every emulator to put on their own systems, they even "pirated" rom dumps instead of just using their internal sources so all that said, you're correct and it's because
Nintendo themselves are incompetent
They decide to make the games have online multiplayer (which is atrocious) so they can only add a few games a month if even.
Worst decision ever. They should have just dumped a few hundred games up with no fucking online multiplayer at all. Nobody gives a shit. Fucking retarded Nintendo.
Put every 1st party Gameboy, nes, snes, GBA game on there and every fucking one will pay for that
because your mom gay
The truth is Nintendo outsources A LOT. So thats how you end up getting pirated roms and really inconsistent jumps in quality. Like the switch homescreen is a complete joke even compared to something like the 3ds.
Because you cannot emulate Nintendo 64 games and make them look good. You either make them look authentic (terrible) or good (inauthentic) and either way people hate it
The architecture of the console was so poorly documented, even Nintendo couldn’t figure it out after the fact. You’ll notice that Mario 64’s invisibility cap effect is not accurately replicated, and Ganon’s castle collapsing in Ocarina had to be done as a FMV.
They're better off remaking all their 64 games than trying to make an N64 emulator.
I remember the Zelda disc for Gamecube having a warning on the back saying that Majora's Mask runs like shit.
The Nintendo 64 is a terrible system that demonstrates that my matter how horrible the platform is good games are still possible
Even Nintendo didn't know how the fucking thing works
Because they are megajews. There is no other reason.
Lying
I just want comfy Mario Party 1 - 3 action with 3 other players online.
Because the N64 sucks and it has no games
It wasn't on the back of the box it was a warning that shows up when you start the game warning that it wasn't perfect emulation. There wasn't any substantial problems I can remember other than just certain lightings looking off and slowdown in some areas.
I think it showed when you tried to start Majora's Mask
>Even Nintendo didn't know how the fucking thing works
Because some amatuer nerds said so over paid professionals. Stop believing everything posted on Yas Forums, simpleton.
Yeah, I remembered there being a warning somewhere. I can't find any footage of people actually starting up MM on that disc to confirm, though.
I must have mashed through it every time because that was the version I played the most and I don't recall it at all
Left is better
Not him, but I'm looking at the manual right now and there is a warning in the Majora's Mask section
>ATTENTION: You may notice slight sound irregularity when playing The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. This is a result of transferring the game from its original N64 version to Nintendo Gamecube and does not indicate any problem with your system. This irregularity does not occur when playing other Nintendo Gamecube software.
N64 games run like shit on native hardware.
Is that a texture pack? Looks amazing
Yeah that's it. Was just about to take a picture too so thanks for saving me the time
Super mario RPG
WHEN WILL THEY DO IT
I know the original game was 12 fps but there were certain parts I remember the game dipping to maybe 5fps (Wart and Gomess boss fight comes to mind thanks to all the enemies on screen at once)
MM crashed like 10 times on me
fuck the gamecube version
No, Nintendo thought their eye popping 3D graphics were so fucking advanced that they'd need anti Aliasing like 3D movies from that era. But all they ended up with was just pretty games that became gross and blurry.
youtu.be
I honestly think the N64 would hold up as well as the PS1 if not for Nintendo blurring the video output for literally no reason. It just makes the games look worse with no benefit.
Hopefully the Ultra HDMI 2 will completely disable it on hardware so that thirty years later we can finally play N64 games as they're meant to be played.
what games would they even put on it?
It wasn't something you'd notice on old CRT TVs, but it definitely didn't age well when looking at it on new hardware.
>There wasn't any substantial problems
Don't remember about OoT but MM crashed and froze a LOT on the CE version compared to N64.
