There are a few things MS need to have right out of the gate:
1) A killer app
2) Out of the box support for everything thus far; that means XB, 360, and XB1 compatibility on day 1
3) No fucking Kinect; don't even mention Kinect
4) A friendlier UI, with fewer esoterics, and fewer ads; make the customer feel like MS is sacrificing for them

If they want guaranteed sales...
5) Work with Nintendo to enable remote play for X-Sex games on Switch
