The stream WAS planned for the 20th, but got corona'd into the future. Currently the plan is to broadcast on June 23rd. Who would have guessed. Plus SDCC being cancelled really threw us off. Expect the remake to be delayed a few months. So two games in 2021. Yay.
Movie Sonic is peak Sonic design. Nothing come close, literal perfection.

Honestly, I actually really like the movies Sonic design. And it sucks that they won't work with taxman's ideas, because he's the only same person whose been working with Sonic.

Taxman wants to do Mania 2 his way (which is very amateur/fangame-ish) and Sega is saying no. Sega claims they own the retro engine, and Taxman says no. They're at a standstill.

Alright, now see maybe I could believe that Taxman and Sega are having a dispute, but this? His engine is proprietary. Taxman owns it. This is like Sega saying they own Havok because they use it to code their in game physics. If you wanted to sound legitimate you could have at least said they own the framework that was built with the engine, but even that is dubious at best. If you want me to believe you then at least try harder.
I dont mind playing Eggman in mechas, but not Tails. I dont mind playing with robots either.

Aight, I'll bite. How smoothly is dev going on Cosmos? I remember hearing that post-Forces, Sonic Team proper was dissolved into a more general team at Sega to pull resources from, and a lot of Sonic's dev was moved west. This true? And if so, is it leading to actually not clusterfucked game dev?

No? Do you not know how this works? Sega claims they own the engine because of a contract that Taxman signed saying any and all things created for Mania (and to a lesser extent the mobile ports) are property of Sega. And they're interpreting that as the engine as well which isn't that far of a stretch considering how much content and mechanics were programmed in Mania.
It's going fine I guess? ST was mostly dissolved, yes, and the new talent is really bringing some life back into the series. I personally rank it around Gens so far. Just some silly story with more focus on good levels.
