If you like the original just for the story, just play the original again. But if you like the original for the characters, world, music, and combat mechanics, play the remake.
If you like the original just for the story, just play the original again...
what if I like the original story but I hate the graphics?
Then you watch Advent Children.
I like both
lol no
>Because the original exists the remake's story can be as stupid as it wants!
Thanks so much for your insight user.
>Sepiroth gets completly changed
But you said characters were good in the remake user
This looks fucking bizarre.
But the original is superior in all of those things. Yes, even combat.
Can I play with these?
this looks uglier than the original

WIP as the development goes along, but he's making fair progress. Independent of his battle models too. If you're using 7th Heaven you can still get his world vehicle models in the packs on there.
other than Tifa needing her shoulder ball shrunk a bit looks pretty good
I already took the remake back. Fuck it.

many such cases, although the remake's airbuster and jenova themes were good. some tracks like the reactor also suffered from the full orchestra, losing its industrial sound. however it also had random jpop and edm which made sections feel inconsistent. overall the original had better music.
>If you like the original just for the story, just play the original again.
This is baffling, make a fucking REMAKE like you said, who wanted time travel bulshit and paralel dimensions? Imagine seeing the word remake in 2015 at the end of that trailer and thinking: "yes, I can't wait for Nomura's fanfiction", those who are saying it's genius or even good either never cared or have to take it because they are so invested at this point admitting it's bad would mean they wasted 5 years of their lives.
Looks good except Red, not a massive fan of that look.
People are never gonna come off of their anger on this, but i'll say that Square-Enix should never be trusted in the first place and leave it at that.
too bad is not finished yet
>those who are saying it's genius or even good either never cared
I definitely am in this camp, I had no interest in the game till I found out its gonna take things in a new direction, I can never understand people who just want a prettier version of the same game, I guess graphics are just really important to them
>I can never understand people who just want a prettier version of the same game
Would you rather play this than the remake then?
You keep claiming that this game is the greatest thing ever made, yet I've never heard a single argument in favor of it. It still has every problem of the original, while introducing more problems.
>characters talk way too much
>disgusting sex fanservice everywhere
>cutscenes every 5 seconds
>MUH REALISTIC GRAFIX (which leads to 100 gb of bloat)
>cutting up the game into multiple parts, all of which will cost 60 dollars each
>combat consists of button mashing
>not even gonna touch the story because of how atrociously bad it is (making it so you have to play the original just to understand it defeats the point of a remake)
It's the same cinematic experience I grew to hate on the Psx, only now it has a huge budget and an even bigger file size for no reason other than to make people reluctant to delete it. To any FF fans out there, tell me why I should praise this game like it's the greatest thing ever made.
I was just mad I was blatantly lied to. If this was called VII-2 I'd still buy it but Square marketed this as a straight remake
Yes actually.
Looks fine to me.
I like the original for all of those things.
Not playing the remake until I can pirate it.
If there's one thing nobody can complain about, it's the soundtrack. They fucking NAILED it, literally every single rendition of every track is better, with a fuckload of god-tier new ones.

This is probably one of the most hype boss battle tracks I've heard in a long time. AND THIS ISN'T EVEN MY FAVOURITE TRACK. Holy shit composers. Pic unrelated

If you didn't get emotional you weren't a big fan in the first place
Who ever did the voice and sound direction was great. Game legit made me sad
>man chugs gallons of shit
>claims he's a real fan
I'm mixed on the music, but the thing I think they nailed are the character interactions. Even for a game that can't tell too much story with its characters for where they are yet, it's the thing I like the most.
The new soundtrack lost a lot of the character and sci-fi feel of the original.
As great as it is, the new orchestrated one is carried by the strength of the original compositions.
>Playing the boss battle
>Hearing the J-E-N-O-V-A remix, quite underwhelmed
>Final phase of boss starts
>Incredible remix of J-E-N-O-V-A suddenly kicks in full force

High point of the entire game. They slipped up in certain areas, but the payoffs with the music were absolutely worth it.
FF7R reminds me of Game of Thrones or Star Wars Episode 8. They forgo good writing in the pursuit of subverting expectations.
I play og ff7 for the combat. I like active time battle turn based combat way more than third person action combat.
Post the City of ancients one
>combat mechanics, play the remake.
No way fag, remake is unplayable.
