Include some playable characters with designs that seem to be widely enjoyed (Rouge, Blaze, etc.)
Provide things such as online co-op, whether split screen or locational icons at the corner of the screen that show general area/distance from your friend.
The rest of the funding goes towards providing a killer soundtrack.
Fire all of the writers because Sonic doesn't need any fucking writing, just a good game with good zones and good music.
