>activist investor
Sounds like a Soros wannabe. Why does capitalism allow rich people to circumvent due political process all the time?

Investors and shareholders are the worst fucking people on earth.

there's nothing good about jews putting their hands in more capital

Sounds BadBadNotGood to me. The only thing Nintendo has on other companies is that they actually have to focus on games.

>why is this video game company talking only about video games

So how many % of the total shares is that?

that's... not what it means.

that's not what that means

>NOOOO YOU CAN'T JUST PROVIDE THE CAPITAL I NEED TO GROW MY BUSINESS

>nintendo doesn't have capital
I wish they were smart enough to do mass buybacks when they were flopping hard.

>looking at Nintendo's potential to become a broader digital entertainment company
To what? Not video games? I don't like the sound of this at all and I hope their influence is kept to a minimum.

Yeah I mean what next, cartoons?

>broader digital entertainment company
Bad. Very bad.

Activist investors seize power, cut everything nonessential and squeeze profits as tightly as they can, then dump the stock for high profits and leave the company in the dust.

no games on the switch, so their goal is already accomplished

I remember when they were harping on them to make phone games and put more DLC in their games and people said they would never succumb to those demands.

>>NOOOO YOU CAN'T JUST PROVIDE THE CAPITAL I NEED TO GROW MY BUSINESS

>NOOOOO I DIDN'T GIVE CAPITAL TO THIS VIDEO GAME COMPANY SO THEY'D JUST PRODUCE VIDEO GAMES, WHAT ABOUT THE HIGHLY PROFITABLE MOVIE MARKET, WHY AREN'T THEY INVESTING IN DEVELOPING SMARTPHONES IT COULD BE THE NEW APPLE CAN'T WE GET INTO THE MUSIC MARKET ALREADY I GAVE YOU MONEEEEEEEEEEEEY

Invest in a tree and leave. Via a noose.

fucking bad, let videogame companies just make fucking videogames
souless stockhoarding bugmen get ye gone

t. bad with cash

It's not as if they're going to divert their game devs from working on games to working on "digital entertainment initiatives" or whatever.

I imagine they want Nintendo to be more aggressive licensing their IP for other shit, maybe do some subscription service like XBL Gold, etc.

This company isn't likely to publicly announce or discuss what they're doing though.

Uh oh.
Hopefully they won't sell out.

No it isn't because Nintendo's only selling point is having good games, almost every other part of their business and their practices are fucking awful

Well, the first question we gotta ask is, who runs this investor company?

Name one company involving video games that hasn’t sold out and if you say Bethesda I will punch you in your smelly face

If you don't count "abandoning all other IPs to keep putting out quality games of the same genre/series" as selling out, Fromsoft.

Activist Investor =/= political motives. These type of investors usually study companies and find ones that believe they wanna see changes in, be it in financial structure, management, etc.

Nintendo has a 52Bn market cap, so they bought 2% of the companies value? they aren't changing shit.

>In May 2013 ValueAct Capital revealed that it had purchased $2 billion worth of Microsoft stock (less than 1%). Shortly thereafter the company made public announcements that it sought to join the board of Microsoft if the company did not increase its stock price through a stock buy back program or a larger dividend. The threat was seen as one of the reasons that Steve Ballmer decided to leave Microsoft.

Japan needs to step in and seize these kikes' stake in the company immediately.

It’s bad because this company just wants to shill cheap products with Nintendo IP, like mobile shit and micro transactions. They said they want Nintendo to act more like EA. The upside is they have a very small stake. Nintendo’s market cap is like, $60bn. I’m doubtful that Nintendo is going to shift its focus after the success of the Switch.
