Nothing.

Nothing

nothing

Something

There are concepts i loved about this game
if i had to pinpoint the worst aspects is probably the voiced protagonist and the main quest

bethesda forgot how to rpg and instead made borderlands with base building

Everything. Fallout 76 at launch was substantially better than FO4, with Wastelanders, it's not even fair to compare the two.

FO4 is one of the biggest disasters in gaming history. They made the game completely braindead but didn't put in the work to make it an actually decent shooter, like Far Cry, so you end up with an unsatisfying slop of shit. The story is retarded and the forced settlement shit is completely antithetical to Fallout. It would be like if animal crossing added in mandatory survival horror segments for some reason.

It's Bethesda's worst modern game.

Imagine if New Vegas had 4's shooting mechanics and updated engine. My god, it's just asking for a remaster. It's so hard to go back to NV when it fucking crashes with minimal mods.

It became a themepark with associated rides.
Once 76 came out and had a literal themepark and then I remembered 4 had one too it all sort of clicks. That and the beginning quest with the power armor and the deathclaw.

Its just an amusement park ride at this point. Roleplaying is for the gays, just see the sights and ride the rides.

Nothing, really.
It's much better than Fallout 3 in every single way (only retards blinded by nostalgia think F3 is better) so I'd say it did what it was supposed to do. Still the second worst mainline game, though.

everything

The junk system and components were genius given the setting. Customization was fly too.

These nigga's said it best

Casualized to make more money.
It worked.

Voiced protagonist, weapon selection pales in comparison to every other Fallout, fusion cores. The power armor looks cooler, but assuming the 1+ inch thick steel plates on the T-45 are AR500 it could tank .50BMG all day, rendering every model after it overpriced and fragile in comparison. T-51b in old lore was pretty much rated to stop up to .308, propably not even HP. The list of autistic reasons the changes suck is too long to explain.
Honestly, I still love it despite its issues.

I don't know, i don't like crafting systems that turn my character into a vacuum cleaner

the customization was also boring, it's just "pick the best upgrade", and thanks to that we got like 2 fucking weapons to play with

>doesn't work on Wastelanders
>the writing ends up being pretty good

*probably not even AP

This was the weirdest part. They make you a jannie by design but you can never actually clean the place up. Its still just rust covered shit.

bethesda

They fucked up muh lore hard in 3, but they really went full retard with this one. Also comes with Bethesda trademark shit writing and 0 effort on immersion side of things. Cool map (as always), shit quests, shit gimmicky mechanics like building stuff. Yeah shooting things is much better now, but who the fuck cares about shooting things in Fallout game anyway.

I hate this fucking game.

Maybe if we're lucky Fallout 4 New Vegas will be released in a playable state this decade. They really shouldn't have taken on the burden of revoicing the entire game, especially when there's somebody else already doing that.

NV has a themepark too, retard.

But it itself never felt like a themepark. That is the distinction.
4 and 76 both feel like sightseeing simulators.

They left out world building in favour of settlement building.

NV is an designed as an old school isometric game in first person, much like VTM:B for instance. Sure the map kinda sucks and you're in for a single route if you're playing it as intended, but the writing, characters and stories this game has to offer are carrying this game hard. People who made it obviously cared, and it also feels much more canon to 1 and 2 to no ones surprise. No wonder it skyrocketed Obsidian as it did.

Nothing? They wanted to make a casualized rpg to appeal to a mass market. They did that and it sold well. You can be upset it wasnt what you wanted but that doesnt make it bad

Everything.

I still don't understand what the hate wagon on 76 is about, when everything wrong with 76 happened in 4 first.
Yet Bethesdrones ate that shit up. But they turn on Todd with 76?

really makes me think...

It exists.

I am glad they let you know how ass using PA was early on.
After using that first set for the fight never touched another.

It was a cool concept and all but PU what a buzzkill actually playing in it.

There was no item degradation and survival was optional.
None of the mistakes of 76 were started in 4

Item maintenance was a thing since 3. It's good that it's back.
>not playing exclusively on Hardcore or Survival
Imagine being a fag

All of the mistakes of 76 started with 4.
Shitty open world looter shooter with shit writing and shit NPCs.

The dialogue. Yes. Maybe. No. Sarcastic.

This. Main quest was abysmal, however voiced protag in an RPG is unforgivable. Who thought that was a good idea?
