MGQ thread?

just download a content unlocked

Would you prefer if that divided in to 1/3rd of the options so you were forced to buy content you had no interest in?

I'd prefer it if the game came out completed instead of being divided into pieces in the first place.

just buy the cd keys online that way you get legit compies and make sure Johan sees barely any money

Wrong kind of paradox but at least you have good taste.

But it did, do you think you're entitled to any future work the developer puts towards a title they already sold you as is?

>Alma Elma
As do you.

>make game
>cut out chunks of it
>sell those chunks at absurd prices
nothing personell, kid

>buy a product for a price
>developer comes out with new product for the product you agreed to pay a price for
Woah

>devs support the game after its release
>players get new content
Literally nothing wrong with that.

You're not a poorfag or something, are you, OP?

The devs know they can easily fleece their dedicated, autistic fanbase, so they do.

you really think they support shit after its release instead of holding back and even cutting content to be later release as dlc? This is paradox we are talking about here. Just look at that steaming pile of turd that is stellaris and say that again with a straight face. Reminder to pirate all paradox games if you want to really play it.

100% this. They keep doing it because they know they can easily get away with it.
It's not like there's a shortage of completely braindead retards willing to gobble up literally anything thrown at them.

>pirate DLC
>buy base game
nothing personal, shekelstein. I'd consider buying it if every goddamn DLC wasn't 20+ and only added gimmicks with one or two frequently requested features.

>artificially inflate price by dividing a game's content into pieces and selling the incomplete version at full price with individual pieces as extra and offer this as the only option for the consumer
>"you agreed to pay this price :^)"

>and offer this as the only option for the consumer
Don't buy it, but also don't think you're the majority

Why do single planes in flight sims cost more than an entire game?

The same reason a drawing might fetch more than a piece of paper

I know the planes are meticulously modeled and are extremely realistic, but still, does it really take more dev time to create one plane than an entire game?

It's still your decision to buy a game with such a shitty business model.

They do this because it's the only way to be profitable with niche games. The strategy game market is saturated, and most of the sales in the genre happen years after launch at 80% discount. They need to milk the whales of the playerbase with DLC to stay profitable.

>paradox game comes out years ago
>300 dlc all still at full price
>if you want to get into a new game the bundle of all dlc is only a 10% discount
>all dlc are mixed reviews at best

This is what Bethesda wishes mods was in Elder Scrolls.

>Humble Bundle comes along with the game and all non-cosmetic DLC for a grand total of $17

dont forget
>every dlc break the balance bad with the following dlc making it worst
>so much that with having all of them even the historical option the world turn into border gore

There are a lot of other factors that go in to the price of something than labor hours spent, and depending on the detail of the craft I can imagine that being the case

The only issue is that Paradox was the pioneer of the "bundle a big patch with some trivial content and sell it as DLC" model.

Don't forget, train simulator is a yearly release too.
LMAOing at these poorfags who don't have 10k to spend on one game.

In the case of high-end flight simulators I think the issue is just obscurity. It's the same for any kind of niche / boutique product. Not as many people are buying it, so they have to sell it for more if they want to make any kind of money. They don't have the economy of scale on their side.

the train sim dlc has been discussed to death
it boils down to licensing the real deal and how much they expect to sell

>game had core gameplay issues on release
>dlc fix these problems while making the original more complicated
>now I have to figure out which dlc actually adds to the gameplay and which dlc arent worth it
>because I pick and chose I lose any bundle discount

And thus it is a model worth criticizing.

You're free to criticize whatever you want
