I think it's because Henry is the most underdog protag I have ever played in a game. Sure, you play underdogs in plenty of other games but most times where they lack in skill, they have some special background or are handsome as fuck.
Henry is this droopy, droopy, dumb looking dude with a "u wit m8?" voice that starts the game barely able to swing a sword or win a fist fight. But he has an innocent well meaning charm as well as a strong motivation to see justice done. Seeing him succeed is a good feeling.
