Not sure about Russians, but in Czech Republic it is still very common to buy a carp few days before Christmas Eve, keep him in a bathtub, then kill him on the day of Chrismas Eve to make the traditional dinner (consisting usually of breaded fried carp, potato salat, fish soup and tons of small side-dishes).

Far Cry 5 is a mediocre game BUT it has an excellent, immersive fishing minigame. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I 100%'d the game in 30 hours but clocked in another 20 after that just fishing. It's such a beautiful game and the fishing was so satisfying.

I kept asking my dad to go fishing but he always told me there weren't any fish at the spot we went to due to people overfishing. My dad passed away about a year ago so that fishing trip will never happen.
