damage sponges
game is too easy
The only flaw is boss phase transition bullshit, otherwise it's perfection
>post a bunch of legitimate flaws
>claims none are legitimate
learn to abuse stagger retard
Elaborate
the combat is a very good foundation, there's just balancing issues with the numbers
I haven't run into a hard boss yet, I'm on chapter 14 of my first playthrough playing on normal, bosses are either frustrating because they have long periods where you can't hit them and they have massive amounts of hp, or they're weak and die too quickly while not doing much damage, most bosses I've beaten on the first try, one or two i died once, the only boss I died more than once to was Shiva, and that was because I was doing it with only cloud, before you get Aerith back
the hardest fight I've seen in the game so far was in the beginning of the game when you're going through the train tunnels to the second reactor, the fight where there's two missile turrets and two flamethrower fags
all of the bosses people complain about I've beat on my first try, reno and rude are both easy because clouds counter attack is so overpowered, hell house was just tedious, abzu was easy, the ghost was just confusing because the yellow text after doing assess didn't seem to match up with how the boss behaved, but he did almost no damage so it was ok
anyone complaining about this game's difficulty has some type of mental disability, if you're getting filtered by a jrpg you need to be seeking help with a specialist to figure out what you have
Spell interruption is normal and should be part of the combat.
No AI option is an actual flaw.
You can hold square to change equipment before almost every boss.
Yes, invincibility frames are hot garbage and should be abolished.
That's an actual flaw yet again, aerial combat is shit in it.
A proper flaw yet again.
When bosses change their phase they are somehow invulnerable for some time. On your first playthrough it's impossible to know when/if that happens, so you will inevitably waste ATB bars, MP or even Limit Breaks. They also immediatley get out of stagger.
Ice is a shitty spell and they make you use it on enemies that never sit still for even a moment.
Something being a cause of you losing doesn't make it a flaw, it makes you bad.
>what is stop
You don't have stop for 70% of the game. And when you finally do 90% of the enemies you would want to use it for are Immune to it and Sleep.
And Slow doesn't even slow enemies. It's just makes they use abilities less often.
Aerial combat is complete dogshit. That and the mechanical arm "puzzle" are my only two complaints so far.
The hell is wrong with the arm puzzle?
Move arm to Yellow square. Pick up Aerith or box and move her/it to another yellow square.
It's Toddler level problem solving.
I'd guess it's becauce the game stops you from damaging them before the phase cutscene. I recall Limit Breaking with Ascension with Cloud and in the middle of it the bosses HP bar had a grayed out stop symbol halting his HP so I didn't even get the full on damage from the Limit.
>the hardest fight I've seen in the game so far was in the beginning of the game when you're going through the train tunnels to the second reactor, the fight where there's two missile turrets and two flamethrower fags
Thank god I'm not the only one that ran into this. I'd actually like to try that fight again now having a better grasp on the combat system. Probably had to have Barret Steelskin and tank tha damage and have someone spam Thunder and Fire with ATB Boost (unless you got that later, can't remember).
>You can hold square to change equipment before almost every boss.
Can you? I only noticed that option at the pillar just right before Barrett rejoins your party.
XV is better
My brother Barry is not here at this moment, he will provide proof after he finish eating
Blizzard is indeed garbage in this game
It's slow and tedious. Obvious padding.
learn to stagger retard
there are a shitton of people putting videos up on youtube of them BTFOing bosses on hard
have you never played a JRPG before?
this shit is fucking tame
The game is heavily ATB based and the AI doing jack shit half the time means you barely have any for your other party members
Probably because you're supposed to be swapping characters, like the game is constantly trying to encourage you to do, via every unique action's mechanics.
>not switching between your party members constantly
i'll admit that not letting AI basic attacks build any ATB at all is a bit of a retarded decision though. I get incentivizing swapping but there are other reasons to swap anyway; they could've just made it a nerfed 50% ATB gain if it's from AI attacks
Unless you make the character you are using have those materia that boost the other characters ATB when you do certain shit. But those wast Materia slots you could be using for shit that matters.
Would have been fine if there was Aerith Cloud banter, but nooooo it’s dead fucking silent
>2 ATB bars spell/action being interrupted
and
>1 ATB physical attack does 500 damages at max level
>1 ATB magical attack does 3700 damages at max level
Switching to do what? Hitting invulnerable/out-of-range targets? I started to enjoy fights with the ATB start materia (abuse)
if you're talking about cloud's braver vs blade burst, most of the time it's because the cloud has a mage build going on with spell materia and magic up materia
mageknight cloud is best cloud
Here are my ideas for part 2 :
>Characters can equip different square button combos.
> Two slots, one for hold square combo and tap square combo.
>Make dodge actually work
>Aerial combat like in dissidia but somewhat toned down.
>Hitting a elemental weakness gives a ATB refill
>Staggering makes you ATB refill faster.
How do you get these fuckers to use their enemy skill? They just won't USE IT.
Yeah. there is magic up materia but no other base stat up materia besides luck.
Whatever the materia, there’s a huge gap between attacks, and you end up spamming triple slash
In general, attacks are really weak and that’s weird when you have a 80 pounds weapon. Better use a rapier
You realize the speed stat increases ATB charge rate right? You realize Haste is a thing.
The combat is just FUCKING boring. I'll say it. Action RPG combat is all the same, I've played it a thousand times, and it bores the fuck of me.
>ATB Boot + Haste
>Poppin' off abilities like nobodies business
Feel the POWER.
Cloud triple slash destroyed fights like this for like half the game
I don't understand why people say that it's better than XV when it's exactly the same.
Just spam Square and press sometimes Triangle in it to make more damage.
Before you people say play it on hard.
The game is only hard because it limits your options in a fight not because it gets more technical. Thats not how you make good combat. I can't believe that these People made the KH2 combat
3 ATB bars
Magic uses 1,5 to 2,5 of them
Attack 1 or 2
Fills faster for no active characters
You get optional characteristics/points that you can use to start with few ATB, faster, stronger defense, ect... Only chad can reload this, like weapons. (Too much uses of purple materia for this).
Cutscenes don’t stop actions, at least the damages hit. 2 ATB bars or more spells/actions have strengthened protection (not broken by little insects).
AI uses triangle actions, and you can choose the way they uses ATB (not/half/full). AI specialize with their specifics (hitting flying enemies for barret, ect, longe range support for aeris).
By the moment you only uses these two every fight, there’s something wrong.
1000x times better than shitty turnbased combat
>lame stagger function from 13
>linear maps like 13
>overabundance of cutscenes like 13
>people complained about 13 but praise 7R
really makes you think. doesn't help that 13 had shitty characters though
>Hitting a elemental weakness gives a ATB refill
>Staggering makes you ATB refill faster.
Dumb Tifa poster
Here's an idea for the combat:
Bring back X or X-2's system. Not this poor implementation of both ATB and action combat that doesn't satisfy either playerbase.
>let them grab you
>wait until they explode
>realize their unique skill is just Self-Destruct
There you go
>Damage sponges
>Hell house gets beat on hard in 4 minutes
>Rufus gets beat on hard in 1 minute 30 seconds
>Guard scorpion gets beat in 2 minutes
Damage sponges my ass
is right
>Written by the director and writer of 13.
It all adds up.
At least FF7R isn't a hallway and we didn't have to follow around a dyke who has a hate boner for her Brother in law and a lady boner for a child.
Cloud should be able to dual-wield with fusion sword in part 2 or some shit with a third triangle-form.
Funny thing is. There were the first enemy skill I learned. and It's because I forgot I equipped Barret with enemy skill.
