>"wow look at this huge world, time to go exploring! maybe I can get go get the master sword early!"
>"hmm, there's actually fucking nothing out here"
>"oh nvm, I found another korok shit at least"
This objectively has to be the greatest open world of all time right?
Beautiful open world but with gameplay and mission structure so bland, unengaging, and formulaic that doing anything within the world is boring as fuck. Playing RDR2 felt like driving a beautiful sports car through gridlocked inner-city traffic.
Which semi open world game actually used its empty space properly and filled eventful areas with unique and fulfilling content? Witcher 3 had good quests but abysmal open world exploration for example. The most recent ass creed greek edition I pirated, and the world is fantastic and exploration is great but the quests are for the most part dogshit. BOTW had a good world but was just a glorified tech demo and Dragons dogma could have been the pinnacle of RPGs but was rushed in development.
BOTW2 could easily be one of the all time greats, the original not so much. BOTW is a great game though.
Does the greatest open world of all time necessarily have to be fun?
>an endless stream of side quests and unmarked missions
>HEY PARTNER I DONE INJURED MYSELF
>HELP HELP I'M BEING KIDNAPPED!
>HEY PARTNER I DONE INJURED MYSELF
So immersive.
More like driving a jalopy down a world tier scenic race track.
There's fuck all to do in it's open world.
>Comfy riding through the forest
>Get attacked by a cougar
>Crossing a pretty covered bridge
>Jumped by highwaymen
>Trying to camp on some kino peak
>Some inbred fucks come threaten you
You can go bowling.
