Similar but different enough to be refreshing, I feel like it offers finer control over tricks and movement, I don't often find myself accidentally doing cool shit in session whereas in skate you would just end up on a rail sometimes totally by mistake and just kinda go with it. Higher learning curve and I think a higher skill ceiling but it is difficult to say without the game being completed. Definitely scratches the same itch and gives the same feeling of satisfaction when you nail a particular trick you'd been trying to get.

Last time I played there was no real goal or anything you kinda just freestyle around until you get bored and the biggest issue is a lack of level variety, you had to use a mod to load custom levels and it was a pain in the ass to deal with. This was a few months ago and I don't know if they've added goals or level selection yet.

There are games that are improving on the skate genre already out. Session is amazing btw.

i remember having score contents with my friends at the stadium. or doing s.k.a.t.e at the fountain. man why how did they drop the ball so hard on 3? they should have the team that did skate 2 make skate 4. even though i know we are never getting it

They patch it and update it often. I new update and new park are being added this week actually.

The game isn't about goals either. It is about replicating and simulating skateboard. Challenging and rewardign you by pulling off lines and tricks.

I actually miss Skater culture in general. I wasn't into it myself, but I liked to sit around and watch people try to do kick flips or grind railings.
I bought Skate 3 recently just so I could experience that obnoxious "Entire world is skateboarding" setting again.
