Sure, Remake looks really good, aesthetically. That can't be understated, the game looks damn fine. But does anybody else think that a different art style would help is age better over time? The original hadn't "aged well" but at the time they were really pushing graphical capabilities just like they are today.
I'm thinking Wind Waker vs Twilight Princess, how opinions have seemed to flip on those games over time. Not saying Remake should have been cel shaded, but it would probably not have taken so long to design if the devs weren't stuck trying to please the "I WANT FFVII BUT WITH TODAY'S GRAPHICS" crowd.

I appreciate what you were going for OP but this game is ridiculously low effort visually. It's only saving grace is that it's on Unreal Engine which by default has some nice effects that they used. Such as particles.
FFX permanently fucked the series aesthetic Now everyone needs to be a J pop pretty boy

This artstyle is from 2006.

Part of the reason we even like FF games is because of the concept art. The only FF game that has taken it seriously has been FFT and that game has aged gracefully.
Like or hate the graphics, the point of discussion stands. Would something more "cartoony" help the game's visual longevity? The original had like four different art styles between battles, fmvs, and exploration. Not all look that great today (if any), but I think there's an argument for the sort-of anime look being more appealing to some.

Yes. You are speaking to a human collective poster. A hivemind, if you will. We will not tolerate such disrespect.

You're telling me people that like FF don't like the concept artwork?
VERY good argument you're making, holy shit I'm so wrong.
As far as it being a work of art yes, but people wouldn't buy it probably.
Anime games are getting more and more realistic (t/n note: high graphical fidelity) for the simple fact that technology is becoming better and cheaper.
Ni No Kuni 2 is legimitaely one of the most visually impressive games this gen. And I hope SE returns to the style they had in FFT because it looked really good.
if they took that style and made it hyper detailed, the FF7 concept art would be brought to life.

I called for this before it was ever remade. It should have had a much more stylized, almost cartoon/anime look to it but not all the way anime of course. This is how games such as the PS2 MGS games still have a good look today. They weren't full blown realism but also not to the opposite extreme. Honestly would have been fine if they remade the game with a Kingdom Hearts visual design to it desu.
Another example that comes to mind is the first Last of Us. It was the swan song of the ps3 and still looks impressive. But I just picked it up again for the first time since it came out, now the remastered version, and the cracks are starting to show. I wonder if future Remake parts coming out on future hardware will even look consistent with this first entry.

Cloud was a chad in the original game aside from his hair, there's no way you could argue he was a broody teenage Japanese twink.
I mean he was calling you out on using "we". Speak for yourself you little faggot. If you want to quiver, make an argument for him, and then concede to it then good for you but that isnt the point.

better everything coming through game model world everything is better
There certainly fucking is. Speaking on the behalf of others so you can hide behind a collective tends to be insulting to the people you are hiding behind and shows that you cant back up your own opinions yourself. Also it tends to be a sign of tourism

>claim that cel shaded models look like the concept art >posts picture of non-cel shaded models that look like the concept art Do you think cel shading just means "It looks cartoony and has bright colors"?

Sakurai didn't make that game, Bamco are the real devs.
