The devs don't seem to state whether this is just a specific 3 days, the last 3 days, or the first 3 (either after or including 10th) or w/e.
Its still way more than the 2.5 some dumbass on here was going on about earlier tho.

Barry won, FFXV shipments over 5 million in day
Even KH3 sold 5 milliom
>doesnt consider the fact that it came on Xbone too.
The OG sold 10 millions.
Its probably in 5 million now or so.
>3.5m copies on the PS4 only
Wow
KH3 took a bit under 2 weeks to hit 5 mil and weas on two systems.
FF15 was on two systems for those sales.
Im not saying FF7R was record breaking or better than either of em, but its a single system release in the middle of a pandemic so...
Actually incredible that's just PS4 sales. RIP To Barry-kun...
The release was staggered and many places got it a week early. That's why the 3-day number isn't as high as games with worldwide simultaneous launches. By now it has probably sold 5 million.
Yas Forums's tortanic doomer posting is bad enough without people stooping to unironic XV-kun false narrative shitposting.
>Square Enix mentioned that Final Fantasy VII has sold over 11,000,000 units worldwide. This number includes physical copies of the PsOne and PC versions plus digital sales on Steam, PlayStation Network, and iOS.
That's not very much for how over-hyped FF7 is.
The OG helped 6 million PS1s sell in Japan, and it sold 3.27 million copies in japan over the course of an entire year.
NA hit 1 million sales in 3 months by the same years end, and it was the highest grossing FF until 15.
And yes it did hit 9.8 million copies, including 4 million in Japan;
At the end of 2005, a full 8 years after release.
And yes, it did hit "over 10 million"; in May 2010.
And yes, the Steam/PSN releases did hit new sales bringing it to 12.3 across all platforms by 2019;
your point?
This is a less than 2 week old remake. I think the scales are a bit tipped in the OG's favor for that.
That's more than any other FF
Not too bad i mean this is being sold on one platform so yeah the numbers arent going to be as good as they were for older games such as ff15
OP here;
For those of you wondering the math;
if EVERY copy was a $60 game, 3.5 x 60 is 210 million dollars.
If even 0.1% of them were the $330 CEs,
that's 115,500,000 in CE sales alone for 350,000 copies of First Class Edition.
The profits they're reaping in from this are M A S S I V E
Except XV
It couldn't even top 8 lol
FF7 was a huge hit when it released, games didn't sell as much back then. It's still the highest selling game of that whole generation other than console bundle games (Mario 64 and Gran Turismo I believe).
By today's standards Final Fantasy is a B-tier franchise in terms of both quality and popularity. The brand is stronger than the actual products. Exception being FF14, which is the second biggest MMO in the world but has little player overlap with the single player franchise.
FF7R is a great game though and might actually put FF back on the mainstream map, judging from how much normies like it.
Did you actually see XVs and KH3 XBONE sales?
FFXV barely sold at all after the initial launch, when everyone realized how shit it was.
Isn't that kind of low? I was under the impression this game was in development for many years and that isn't cheap. 3.5 million is really good for a budget title.
Normies ruin everything bro it better stay niche than go mainstream
>3.5 million people bought 1/3 of a remake at full price
I'd say it's the most successful ripoff of all time.
People will shitpost, but that's pretty good being PS4 only in the middle of a global pandemic
It'll be interesting to see where it's at in a few months
>FF7R is a great game though
Agreed with everything up to this point. But now I just think you're a retard.
>only 3.5millions
This is the #1 final fantasy title in history?
hell, mao.
>Highest selling mainline title since X
>didn't sell
7R has the at least 1m shipment bonus from Japan that other exclusives like Spiderman or Uncharted obv. cant compensate for.
Either way great results.
>still consider Xbone
>a global pandemic
>Industry grew
many got fooled by the bullshots and preordered blindly.
CD 2 will have hell of a time convincing people to get back to that pokemon texture designs and "boss kill you first then you equip the right things and win" copy pasta idea.
Yas Forums doesn't understand if a game comes out with sales figures its a success barry btfod
lmao the irony
You realize everyone and their grandma got Gran Turismo and FF7 on their PS1 you zoomzoom
Did you nighers consider that FFXV came out in 2 platforms or?
>many got fooled by the bullshots and preordered blindly
So every PS exclusive ever
Except FF7 is the best selling game of all time for the FF franchise with 12.3 million copies sold since Launch;
10, 8, and 13 all have sold more than 15 as well as 7.
consoles were niche back them turbo sperg
Did XV even broke 10k worldwide on Xbone?
user...it's the Xbone
>Being so contrarian that you imply that xbone sold 2 millions copies
Just stop
>13
Cool lie bro
>Multiplat comes out
>"lol Xbots think they're relevant! Most sales will be only on based PS4, guaranteed!"
>Exclusive comes out and sells less
>"W-well come on dude, you can't ignore the power of the Xbox..."
>but its a single system release in the middle of a pandemic so...
Shouldn't that be boosting its numbers? Between the government checks that people are getting and being quarantined a lot of people may have bought it that otherwise wouldn't have. Hell, there were people talking about using said checks just to buy a PS4 to play it. I can't imagine too many people did that, and honestly hope they didn't, but I did see people talking about it. VIIR's numbers seem really low considering that.
Its literally a single system game launch.
They made AT LEAST 210 million dollars off this game in just those 3.5 million sales.
And if even just 0.1% of the sales were their expense CE? That's huge;
60 x 350,000 = 21 million.
330 x 350,000 = 110 million.
If they had more $330 CEs than that? More profits. We're not even counting the 3 other editions of the game sold beyond 'basic' and 'First Class Edition'.
They made BANK for how limited the market really was for the game...whether its enough to recoup we shall see soon enough.
>vidya was mainstream in the 90's
We found the zoomer.
>All this cope
Also shipped=/=sold
>It is everyone else who is retarded, not me
Over 100 reviews on Metacritic and not a SINGLE one of them is negative. But of course you know better than 100 professional game critics. That's very probable.
Take your pills.
>xbox
completely irrelevant, overwhelming majority of mhw sales is on ps4 before pc ver came, and when it did it was the second best selling platform in a week
why do people still bring this disaster is beyond me
If kids play it, it's mainstream.
Literally all available data confirm games are selling more than usual in these quarantine days
>Yas Forums will be forever ass blasted because of this game
btw 15 tards this is 3 days not 5days get your facts straight plus it also had physical shortages
>Metacritic critic reviews matter
You're funny.
>Inb4 lol Yas Forums only cares about metacritic when it supports their views!
No, nigger, metacritic is quite literally never relevant, ever. The user score is even a bit dodgy since they've been known to delete low review scores. The user score is still more trustworthy than critic scores, but the whole thing isn't worth its weight in salt.
BARRY IS GONNA FREAK
According to Japanese sources, the game has sold over one million units in Japan:
Nah, but it's a good thing you'll be gone soon enough. At least until the next big release, then you'll be right back here shilling whatever that product is. Don't worry user, you'll find a better job some day. Just be glad you're employed for pennies on the dollar in these times rather than unemployed.
>shipped
LEL
Wut? The OG FF7 is best selling. Remake remains to be seen.
Except 13 outsold 15 as well, if we're going by most recent games.
No. They didn't.
Not a lie; FF13 itself (not 13-2 or 13-3 or them combined) has sold 800k on Steam, 4.95m on PS3, and 1.95m on 360, and that data's out of date.
15's data states 7.7 million sales, and 500k of windows edition.
So MAYBE 15 is (barely) on top of 13, but its damn close regardless, which I didn't make clear in that statement so that's on me.
Boosting numbers how? Most people have LESS income to burn, not more.
Most countries and people are getting safety checks/money, and in the US a single $1200 check aint jack shit. You're also forgetting the delays and disruptions to shipping, stocking, and delivery during said pandemic.
This was me. Also consider: PANDEMIC.
cope
Yas Forums BTFO
It will sell more than the original when everything is sad and dune.
The fact that they're not overwhelmingly negative doesn't mean the game is only getting praises, far from it. Visiting MC will tell you it's far from the highest rated game of the year and that the fucking FF MMO is better. Actually reading the reviews will show you journalists even resorting to swearwords to describe their issues with the game
>MY OPINION MATTERS MORE THAN THAT OF EVERY SINGLE REVIEWER, I AM CORRECT AND THEY ARE ALL WRONG, EVEN THOUGH I AM AN AUTISTIC UNDERAGE BASEMENT DWELLER AND THEY ARE PROFESSIONAL ADULTS
Supreme delusion. Imagine being this buttfucktarded. Life Is Strange is a great game too, of course.
Shipped =/= sold.
HOWEVER, generally when a company has a product on their shelves, they've paid part or all of it. If a brand new copy of God of War is sitting on your Gamestops shelf, then they've already been paid for that copy by Gamestop, either in part or in full.
If any payment remains, it is usually not given until sales are achieved.
You're correct, for the wrong reasons; I'm not saying there's at least 3.5 million people playing the game who own it.
I'm saying there's at least 3.5 million copies that have arrived at AND/OR been purchased in stores, either in person or online.
>believing in a made-up pandemic, when it's just the ruling powers finally testing out how well they can keep all citizens restrained at the same time
You utter fool
>shipped
LOL
>Game has flaws
Into the trash it goes, according to retards on Yas Forums like you.
>en.wikipedia.org
How much did it cost this time though?
>You're also forgetting the delays and disruptions to shipping, stocking, and delivery during said pandemic.
Damn user, I can't believe people couldn't digitally download the game because of COVID. Get well soon Internet-chan.
