Fast paced and mostly nostalgia wins it for me.

It has the best gameplay in the series. If you're a gamer, that should be all you need.

this

Gameplay isn't all that matters, hype and excitement do too. Ultimate's trailer reveals got more reactions than anything in melee

The gameplay is more fun.

bait

>The game is better because a trailer got a lot of views

>Gameplay isn't all that matters
Guess that's why no one plays it. Oh wait.

What do trailers have to do with playing the game?

>Faster gameplay
>World-hopping Adventure Mode
>Tailor-made Break the Targets
>Event Matches
>Trophies in general
And that’s about it

>more movement options
>less matchups to study
>actual FGC tier inputs
>an actual single player
>real trophies
>more appealing presentation overall

Gameplay is faster, movement is smooth, and you have more options when playing competitively against an opponent.

Because Ultimate tournaments don't let stinky people in so they have to fall back to this game

>best gameplay
honestly don't see that given that only at most 7 characters are regarded as viable

Attached: Fox.jpg (512x512, 53.02K)

>Only a handful of characters are viable at the absolute highest level of play
So? What does that have to do with how the game actually plays?

>“Games are judged by the manufactured hype behind it”
Master bait, user

Even pretending what you just said was true:
>viability matters for casual play

wut

it doesn't have banjo

Melee has a lot more viable characters than most people think, plus it has a relatively small roster so it evens out. And even then people have different criteria on who's viable and who's not. Anytime you bring up quantity, your argument is invalid. SFV has technically more characters, more modes, more character diversity than 3rd Strike doesn't mean it's better.

If you want to end up getting severe hand injuries go for it. I'm a retard and can barely do wavedashes, and the game is really picky with inputs. It requires a lot of precision, even casually.

A desperate attempt to hang onto their glory years

Melee sucks, it's just contrarian retard stinky bois who play it.

>only at most 7 characters are regarded as viable

Only if you're playing against a top 40 player and you aren't and probably never will.

It is much faster and more precise, has more depth, has better single player modes. The mechanics don't hold your hand nearly as much (ledge trumping to get rid of ledgehogging)

Retard

Reminder that stinky day was a smash 4 tournament

fast paced dynamic gameplay. the engine allows for more crazy shit to happen. ultimate is fun but very flow charty.

Does ultimate drop your momentum when you jump like previous post-melee games? That shit is fucking infuriating, what a horrible decision.

>*HUFF PUFF PUFF*
>W-wait!
>*visible building shaking from the folds of fat on the smeleefag*
>Acshually, stinky day was originally... phew... for Smash 4!!!
>*crowd starts chanting*
>"STINKY! STINKY! GO AWAY!!!"
>NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Attached: file.png (249x204, 98.99K)

the stinky meme is just some major cope at this point. no one is forced to play the latest turd sakurai shits out. if you're not a rosterfag, ultimate leaves a lot to be desired.

seethe more smelly

For like 2 characters

>highest skill ceiling in gaming
>watching top players battle it out is literally an anime with plot lines
>insane combos, so many options and strategies
>local scenes as well as super major tournaments

Watch this last stock of Zain Vs Axe, it shows everything you need to know about melee

>FAST = GOOD
why?

Because if you know how to play the game you can see 3x the amount of plays and mix-ups in one game than you can see in an entire set of ultimate

>muh viability doesn't matter for casual play

If you are not trying to play the game like a competitive game using tech not listed anywhere in game or in the instruction manual the game is the slowest and clunkiest smash of them all.

>the game is the slowest and clunkiest smash of them all.
no it's not

i like both but fuck tourneyfag hypemen.

If you don't use comp tech you control like you have concrete in your boots

Can you use a specific example?

If you are in the middle of a dash and want to stop and execute a move you have to wavedash as opposed to just doing it like you can in ultimate

i havent played ultimate but it's faster and has better maps than brawl

youtube.com/watch?v=Ar1rCiAzxXU

Honestly I like it for the adventure mode more than anything else.

>viability doesn't matter for casual play
Well, it doesn't

>If you are not trying to play the game like a competitive game using tech not listed anywhere in game
I never said you should. I only play with my family and friends and we all love to use l-canceling, wavedashing, edgecancels, etc.

> the game is the slowest and clunkiest smash of them all
Not true at all

I like your style

Hahahahaha this post proves youre just shit at smash
Just crouch retard

What kind of example do you need dude this is common knowledge. Without a specific run of gc controller its 5 times harder to even do "dash dance" or "fox trot" and without this shit movement is cluncky at.
