Do you value historical accuracy over gameplay and story?
Do you value historical accuracy over gameplay and story?
Only a retarded faggot cares about accuracy.
only a zoomer nigger cares about flashy look so cool 420 swag yeet shit
If the game is trying for it that's what I'll judge it on.
>Game's plot includes vampires, demons, occult shit, and is explicitly stated to be alternate history in it's description
>BUT MUH HISTORICAL ACCURACY
That guy is a huge fag.
I guess it depends, metal gear is a fucking cool take on WW1 and already starts by telling you its an alternative history. But then you have modern games like battlefield that try to be as accurate as possible and focus on specific battles for you to play out, and those battles are obviously going to play differently because YOU probably aren't going to lose in a setting where your faction does, but I think those settings should remain accurate when the focus is to remain accurate, like if they're taking themselves seriously. Metal gear is more like a sci-fi movie.
it depends on the game and what it is trying to accomplish
A game is trying to accomplish being a game and therefore gameplay is paramount. I'd take a good game over contrived plot or attempts at accuracy anyday. I get the distinct impression that people who whine about historical accuracy want games to be their easily digestible substitute for actually learning history.
>Akshully mom I am studying ancient Egypt
>...leap assassinates pharaoh in Ass Creed
>Wahh they put an sjw in that says Nubians are people too
how do you know what a game is "trying to accomplish"?
>I get the distinct impression that people who whine about historical accuracy want games to be their easily digestible substitute for actually learning history.
Opposite. Accuracy autism hits hardest when it's a subject you've previously obsessed over. That's how you get rivet-counters in historical flight sims.
From the game itself. In it's presentation or overall tone and feeling. You judge things on what it's trying to accomplish and how close it gets to accomplishing it.
>metal gear is a fucking cool take on WW1
>game has nazis, genocide, political murder
>but women shooting guns is where i draw the line
Good inaccuracy:
>removing everything with pointless downtime
>supernatural events that create new gameplay focus
>limited crazy tech
when you should consider making entire new setting:
>a lot of crazy tech to the point of historical event being unrecognizable
>supernatural is everyday event
Fucking Retarded Inaccuracy:
>uhhhh we need more automatic wepons to bang bang in WWI
>women and niggers in pre cold war army, because muh equality
It's hard to decide on shit like this, because clearly people get mad when you insert women and minorities into settings they either didn't exist in, or only partially existed in. A lot of that is just Yas Forums fags whining about the usual, so instead, take a military game with a bunch of iconic firearms, but then add features to those firearms that didn't exist in their time period, fans should be equally mad about that.
>In it's presentation or overall tone and feeling.
You're just making shit up then? Got it
here's your (You).
metal gear
>women only partially existed in ww1
wow
I wanna be from this guy’s universe where he got MGS6
They were phasing in and out of existence for a while.
I do not give a shit about historical accuracy because I am playing fiction, not reality.
All that's necessary is in universe reasoning being consistent and even then it's not as important as it simply being good to play.
>I don't care about having propaganda shoved down my throat I must CONSOOOOOOM
Kys leftie vermin
>Robots and lasers are fine but black men are where I draw the line
>digestible substitute for actually learning history.
Funny, because SJWs seem to push changes to history through games rather hard.
You invented that stupid ass creed situation, when in actual ass creed they push sjw shit left and right, like ancient mixed gender schools.
Yeah I didn't mean women didn't exist in WW1, but from what little I do know of WW1 they were mostly involved in weapon production and weren't in combat roles
autism
>I can't read
>therefore white man bad
It was literally a better time before the Marxists took over gaming.
>series about alternate history where the whole plot is that most of the shit you're told I'm school is a lie manufacutred by the templars
>noooo you can't just have something be different
You would think that the amount of arguments over weather women should be allowed to wear pants when piloting a scout plane should be enough of a point for SJWs trying to push them on the front line in WW games.
That's what he said though.
He said crazy future technology is okay but black men holding rifles isn't.
>>therefore white man bad
you can't read, either
