The hunger bar and its consequences have been a disaster for Minecraft.
The hunger bar and its consequences have been a disaster for Minecraft
Getting food isn't hard.
Its a permanent -1 inventory slot for no purpose other than to keep the bar filled.
Why?
Imagine hating survival mechanics in survival mode
You used pork chops to directly heal in alpha/beta, which cost an inventory slot also. If you're going to make a thread, at least read it aloud before you hit "Post".
In minecraft 1.7 you'd carry food to heal anyway you retard
survival mode was 100% fine before the addition of the hunger system, and the addition of the hunger system made it drastically worse.
Damage is avoidable by getting gud, your hunger meter dropping isn't.
>Am I bad?
>Yes, better bring a stack of food
>No, don't need it i'm a badass.
vs
>Am I going to do literally anything?
>Yes, better bring a stack of food
>No, i'm going to idle here in my house so my arbitrary bar doesn't deplete and not play the game.
>Oh no not ONE slot.
Is that the best argument you got against hunger?
if you care that much about what is essentially legos for 13+ then you might want to contact your doctor and ask for an autism diagnosis
>NOOO YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO PROVIDE AN OBJECTIVE VIEWPOINT ABOUT MY VIDEO GAME, AUTIST!!!!!!
k
I modded it out long ago anyway but the game design holds true.
I'm not wrong.
Doesn't matter. Healing is done via hunger management, which takes up the same amount of slots that you needed before, so your argument falls flat. No, "only bads ever needed to heal" is not an argument.
Damage is avoidable.
Doesn't matter, your argument was that you lose a slot, not whether it was avoidable. Nobody believes that you never take damage in this game, so you can put that non-argument to bed.
Git gud
>concession by memes
Well that didn't take long. See you all in another thread I guess.
Responded to the wrong post. Oh well, easy victory nonetheless.
He shoulda got gud
True, Minecraft stopped being cool when it went from being focused on creative building to shitty rpg mechanics.
It really is a non-feature given how fast you can get a wheat farm up and running.
Now those fucking blocks like granite, andesite, and diorite. Fuck those blocks. Useless shits that take up space while mining.
It's ok, we got one more inventory slot with the shield update
Shields didn't exist back in the day, so you were just face tanking damage from Skeletons anyway. So yes, you needed food all the time. There's no getting good at Minecraft combat, it's Minecraft combat you autist
No-one ever chose to NOT bring food with them unless they were just bumming around their base. You always carried a stack of steak for the same reason you don't leave home without a pickaxe and a shovel - just in case you'll need it. I agree the hunger system is pointless with how easy it is to get food, especially through trading, but it's not worse than it used to be. Overall I prefer it this way, with the way saturation works
>creative mode still exists
Nice samefag. Point #2 defeated.
I NEVER NEEDED A FUCKING WHEAT FARM BEFORE THE ADDITION OF HUNGER
The game was fine
Someone said "hey, we should add this system."
It was added
Do you think that addition made the game MORE fun or LESS fun?
If you say that it's "a challenge for the player to overcome," do you think that it's an INTERESTING challenge or a fucking TEDIOUS one?
Does the addition fit with the game's stated goals of mining and crafting?
There is only one correct answer to these questions.
>Its a permanent -1 inventory slot for no purpose other than to keep the bar filled.
You know how I can tell you never played minecraft before beta 1.8? Because you don't remember having your entire hotbar full of porkchops because they didn't stack
Quit larping as a beta player newfag
Hmmm n’yes I see now... *puffs pipe*

You only need wheat if you're going to breed cows for steak though, and with a Looting 3 sword you need to kill like 0.3 cows per in-game day. If you'd rather eat golden carrots you should be trading with villagers, and almost anything can be traded for emeralds that you then trade for carrots. Including flint, sticks, iron ingots, potatoes, and fucking fish
Look what hunger has done to Africa
>filtered by having to use an item every 30-60 minutes
>git gud
Beta 1.7.3 is the best version
>have to do something minor
>people end up building beautiful farmlands
>others found ways to create automated farms
>it inspires new types of mods
>meanwhile this feature very slightly takes you out of your comfort zone
I mean being here and talking about playing minecraft, autism goes without saying. Though I think you got the severe tism given how bothered you are about making a wheat farm and using a slot to eat.
>Can't micromanage in a survival game
