Why aren't we talking about how good this game is? With the workshop it's thousands of amazing games in one.
What're you playing on it? I've been getting really into Koi-Koi.
Tabletop Simulator
The original Nintendo game
Because you need people to play it with and Yas Forums is scared of multiplayer games.
I don't have any friends to play it with
its a hidden gem. I play it all the time with my gf and friends. Games I recommend:
Party:
Secret hitler
Avalon
Werewords
Wavelength
Shadow Hunters
Cosmic encounter
Telestrations
Heavy:
Gloomhaven
Agricola
Dune
Twilight Imperium IV
Battlestar Galactica
I really tried to get into Gloomhaven, but it's so much. We had 4 people in a game and tried to set it up but we quickly realized we had no idea what we were doing. I went into the official TTS discord and asked someone to come teach it to us. Some kind soul came and went over the game with us for about an hour. He left and after a few minutes we were lost again. (Then the game crashed.)
I either need to play with a veteran or watch YouTube videos for days.
>gf and friends
FUCK YOU FUCK YOU
oh its definitely not for beginners, especially as the game master, better prepare a glass of water when you host. What I did was play a couple of games solo first to get the hang of monster AI etc. As for learning well...the rulebook included in the fantasy setup is pretty self explanatory I feel.
I mean, there are many great solo games too like aforementioned gloomhaven or mage knight
How about reading de rulebook?
I've been using it to play my weekly commander (Magic the gathering) games since the lockdown prevents us from getting together.
where do you even get friends for this shit from?
everyone i know who plays this plays with high school friends
i drifted away from everyone years ago
Gloomhaven is definitely a content heavy game and theres a ton of rules to keep in your head.
In my IRL group we had a few dedicated heavy lifters that took care of administration and enemy AI so that everyone else could just focus on the combat decisions.
Its satisfying once your teeth are deep into it. Theres a digital adaptation that's in development at the moment but it's still a WIP so it's missing key features like online multiplayer but it handles all of the admin, setup, and enemy ai for you which is nice
No friends to play it with.
You're right. It's a giant rulebook but I have to read it.
Try the discord. It's pretty easy to find players there.
I've been playing the Neopets TCG with my fiancee
We've also been fucking around with some Pokemon TCG pack opening simulator thing, I think you're supposed to do draft tournaments but we just open packs at random, put the cards we like in a pile, and start over eventually. It's fun.
>discord
Nice try tranny.
How in the fuck do you play something like mafia/werewolf/card games with one screen?
Or is it online only?
If so that’s gay as fuck.
>what is LAN play
it runs like shit
Tried to get two other friends to play Eldritch Horror but we stopped halfway and never continued, they didn't enjoy it too much.
Can you do local couch co-op with one copy of this?
>yeah goyim just buy 5 switches and 5 copies of the game!
I remember I went to neopets.com back in the early 2000s. I'm surprised it's still around and apparently thriving. I saw a booth for them at Comic Con last year.
D&D. Works okay
Is Tabletop even on Switch? Doesn't everyone already own a computer? Oh no, $20 to play every board game ever made, too rich for my blood!
yeah
Do you not have PCs
Most of the rulebook can be ignored while you're first learning since those pertain to the campaign. When you're learning, your priority should be on the basics of a turn, keywords, and how enemy movement and focus work. It really isnt that bad once you have trained it into your head.
Thriving, not really. I'd say there's MAYBE 1500 or so people playing daily, if that. Everyone playing is like 26-38 and mostly female. The site is also a mess. Lots of stuff hasn't been fixed or overhauled for well over a decade and all the old stuff sticks out like a sore thumb next to the new stuff. But it does still work. For better or worse it's overall the same experience as 15 years ago. Also half of it STILL runs on Flash which won't be supported by any web browser by the end of the year so who knows if they'll even survive that. There can't possibly be more than a few people working on the website every day. It's also been bounced from owner to owner, not entirely sure who owns it right now, might still be JumpStart.
Because it's basically just a platform for tabletop games, and those are supposed to be discussed on /tg/.
how is this game for someone who has never played a single tabletop game game? is it very hard to get into?
