better than the xbox one x, yeah. the xbox series x will still smoke the fuck out of it but if it comes in sub $300 it would probably be the cheapest way to play next gen games. i'm interested in it at that price but if it lacks a cd drive for physical media i won't touch it because i care about my physical collection and also the fact one of the big selling points of xbox now is backwards compatibility with old games if you have the disk so it would be dumb of me to buy one considering i have a few games i'd like to return to some time that are physical disk.

it isn't gimped tho cos this is a whole different product line than series x. it's not like a series x with a 250gb ssd or something retarded like that just to get it at a lower price. from what i read it's keeping the nvme ssd, 8 core ryzen, ray tracing and stuff but the only difference is the gpu is weaker due to lower target resolutions (probably like 1440p machine learning upscaled to 4k) and maybe a lack of a dvd drive.

yeah but the cpu is garbage so it balances out. no point in having a gpu with like 12gb gddr5 which is very powerful to push 4k in games like rdr2 when it struggles to maintain fps in cpu demanding games because of shitty tablet processors. this upcoming series s cheap console will blow it out the water because of ryzen.
