I feel like overwatch would be alot less obnoxious if all the echaracters were faceless and had helmets or something. Remove the characters, axe the story, make everyone just a class rather than a person and overwatch would be 100x more palatable without someone's ugly mug plastered on screen every second.

Nah having good personalities adds a layer of enjoyment. Look at TF2. The problem is that OW's heroes have shit personalities.

faceless in general doesn't get a lot of love

There's definitely something to be said for faceless designs that still convey character through body language and shouts (even TF2 has Pyro, after all). It was something I loved about For Honor before they started doing "unmasked" classes like Highlander and Shaman. And then Ubi gave up on the aesthetic altogether with the chink faction and Year of the Edgelords. I think the game will truly die for me if they ever remove Lawbringers helmet, doubly so if Centurion ever gets an unmasked armor set.
