Because the entire point of consoles is having the console itself be reasonably cheap while everything else is unfathomably expensive
The games are $60 (plus DLC and season passes and microtransactions,) you have to pay $15/mo to use your Internet connection for the games, the controllers are Chinese injection molded garbage that costs $5 to make and is sold for exorbitant prices, etc.
This is the nature of playing games on a platform designed for children who have no concept of money or budgeting or what things are actually worth.

The main issue is that all the feature Sony add in makes their controllers worse. For the first time in 2 decades I can't see myself going Sony again.

These controllers aren't expensive to produce. They sell them at a premium to recoup hardware cost. Even if they cut all the "expensive features", they're still going to hike the price on your stupid ass.
