Why the fuck is he so powerful? It makes sense for the Tux to be capable of fighting Cloud toe to toe since they're special agents selected for their abilities, but Rufus is just a rich kid.
Why the fuck is he so powerful...
well he can also see time jannies for no apparent reason, but the tux can't
if you lived in a magical world with no responsibilities and unlimited wealth wouldn't you try and be the biggest badass there is?
He is literally the leader of Turks. Why wouldn't he be stronk?
That's Tseng, you moron.
cloud isn't actually a soldier. if you played the original you would know this
He's the director of their operations, a position he got by nepotism not ability. Tseng is their field commander.
Which boss fight do you want to see remade the most? For me, it's Hojo.
Cloud IS effectively a SOLDIER post Hojo basement, he had the full Mako and Jenova infusion and didn't die. His Jenova cells let him basically steal abilities and memories which is why he goes from little bitch to super human in such a short time, he absorbs Zack's abilities and knowledge.
You're right, SOLDIERS only have mako infusions. Cloud had mako, Sephiroth's cells (which means Jenova's power as well) and the imprint of a warrior who was probably only second to Sephiroth
>but Rufus is just a rich kid.
OP is projecting his American values onto rufus
This is one of the things they did right by, what the fuck are we bitching about here?
>flies around the arena propelled by a shotgun
nothing personnel, kid
still his fight was piss easy and boring
It's not a complaint, I just wondered if there was some piece of extended universe lore I was missing about Rufus having been trained/fucked with that made him so powerful.
Isn't it implied that only people that act against their fate/destiny see the changebads?
If so, I don't know what he did to earn that because he's pretty much the same as in the original, minus the speech.
ultima weapon so i can see the ultima sword.
There isn't really anything in the game supporting why he became a gun ninja. But I suppose he didn't want to a loser like his father so it makes sense he's actually somewhat active.
In Before Crisis -Final Fantasy VII- Rufus is the main financier for the eco-terrorist group Avalanche, and feeds them information to allow for their success. Along with the other Shinra executives, Rufus takes part in meetings and strategy, and has special access to his father, personally discussing key issues as the second-in-command. Rufus has no interest in the the Planet or its fate while funding Avalanche, rather, he is using the organization to take power from his father. It becomes clear Shinra has a traitor, but initially the informant's identity is not known.
The Turks capture Rufus during the attack on the Old Corel and use him as leverage with President Shinra so that they can save their commander, Veld, and his daughter, Elfé, the Avalanche's commander. President Shinra saves him while the Turks are out searching for the support Materia and attempting to rescue Veld. Before the Turks are ordered executed for insubordination, Rufus has the Turks spared since Tseng "assassinated" Veld and Elfé.
Afterward Rufus is neither killed nor stripped of his title for being a traitor; President Shinra merely orders him placed under house arrest within the Turks' hidden headquarters. His absence is explained by claiming he is on an "extended assignment overseas."
Yeah, I'm thinking he's based.
Japanese writing trope.
High position equally high power level.
Shinra might be boss fight as well if Sephiroth didnt killed him first.
According to Crisis Core (which is obviously canon to the remake) Cloud has pure S-cells which are untainted by the normal Mako infusion process that SOLDIERs undergo (which is why toward the end Genesis and Hollander were targeting Cloud since Zack's S-cells were no good.)
"Powerful" no, but he's never been conflict averse. The Japan only phone game from a while back put it out that he's actually the one who funded and riled up Avalanche in order to make plays in the company. Plus in the original he more or less said "My dad tried to rule with money, but that's too expensive. I'll rule with fear instead." So you know he's down to get violent
He’s a soldier, just not a SOLDIER
I believe you, but also that makes no fucking sense. They were in tubes of mako in hojos lab and Cloud was a vegetable that Zack had to carry because of mako poisoning. Right? Or am I just remembering retarded?
>His Jenova cells let him basically steal abilities and memories which is why he goes from little bitch to super human in such a short time,
How does it feel being so wrong? You should try out the original game.
>The ability to change one's looks, voice, and words, is the power of Jenova.
>Inside of you, Jenova has merged with Tifa's memories, creating you.
>still his fight was piss easy and boring
That's how I feel about every boss fight in the game. You either know the enforced gimmick and kill the boss in 2-4 minutes, or you don't know the gimmick and it's still easy it just takes 10-15 minutes. Hard mode just makes the problem even worse, while still being easy.
Part 1's combat feels like an experimental prototype, they have a solid foundation and I hope they clean it up in the games after.
>The ability to change one's looks, voice, and words, is the power of Jenova
This is different from
>His Jenova cells let him basically steal abilities and memories
And Cloud never once steals memories from Tifa.
You have scenes where Tifa and Cloud are talking about something (in the original) and Cloud doesn't know what the fuck she's referring to, and then you get that static flash that usually means Jenova dickery is taking place, and then immediately after he's talking confidently and has all the details.
He’s got Seto Kaiba powers
>Jehova cells
it figures a jewish superpower would be stealing
>Rufus fight in the original game
>Just a man who shoots you with his shotgun and sics his dog at you
>Rufus fight in the """Remake"""
>Anime fight where Rufus flies with his shotgun and blocks Cloud's sword swings with it
Just another example of how they absolutely fucked up in recreating the general feel of the original.
And who is the leader of Tseng?
His cocklust for Aerith
I wonder how they'll handle the weapon fights. Most of them are so big that you would essentially only see their feet if you fight them like normal.
Heidegger.
>rocketjumping around with shotgun
>shoots quarters to create scatter lasers
that fight was so fucking stupid, I loved it
The Titan fight in XV was done really well, I'd be happy for them to be big setpiece multi phase fights that really make you feel tiny and helpless, and you can see the huge fucks from miles away.
No, Heidigger leads the armed forces, the Turks are special operations. They do technically answer to Heidigger as he's a member of the board, but it's President Shinra who gives the orders
Isn't Reeve technically a Turk or have I got that mixed up?
>You have scenes where Tifa and Cloud are talking about something (in the original) and Cloud doesn't know what the fuck she's referring to, and then you get that static flash that usually means Jenova dickery is taking place, and then immediately after he's talking confidently and has all the details.
Cloud is brain damaged from the 5 year long experimentation. He lays in a comatose state while his best friend drags him back to Midgar and ends up taking on his Zack persona. He does not have “all the details,” during the flashback he can’t remember how the events at Nibelheim went, and when Tifa jogs his memory he instantly thinks he remembers it all in Zack’s place. I don’t think you’ve played the game, look up the original Zack cutscene. There is no “memory stealing” in these games aside from Cloud “stealing” Zack’s persona.
Nope, Reeve is Head of Urban Development
