>THE GAME PLAYS ITSELF LMFAOOO
the game just makes it so you don’t have to press X repeatedly like every other Final Fantasy
I don’t get why everyone hates the combat so much?

Younger generations like games that do all the work for them as long as there are cool special effects that give them the impression that something amazing is happening.
Xenoblade chronicles 2 plays itself as well and requires as little input by the player as FF13.
Any jRPG with auto knows what its about.
>auto rando encounters and grunts
>actually pay attention during mini/bosses
>mindlessly grind if needed
I personally like to shitpost while my game is auto-ing combat
dont cry fag
The combat is really sick when you have some ultimate weapons and genji gear. Been 14 years since I’ve played but I think there was a multi hit Katana that I used with genji gloves and celerity headband or something and it was really fun
well yeah, gameplay wise it's a single player mmo.
I mean, if you think about it.. all turn based jrpgs require little input lol.
>FFVII
>Suikoden II
>Chrono Trigger
these are usually considered the best jrpgs and outside of a few difficult bosses, you could literally press one button just to basic attack your way through
It honestly does. Analogue stick + X may not be very engaging, but it does beat just analogue stick.
>Xenoblade chronicles 2 plays itself as well
LMAO, play first retard
When a game mechanic worked too well.
I fucking love single player mom. Too bad White knight chronicles (muh lady) required a fucking x button press every time you wanted to attack but your allies attacked automatically. What the fuck were they thinking?
Nothing wrong with this IMO
This. The other FFs at least forced you to think, this one is boring as fuck and only zoomers and spergs praise it.
bullshit, I'm not the biggest fan of Xeno 2's battle system as it gets kinda samey, but you have to do quite a lot
The gameplay is just boring as shit and doesn't help that you can't even get all the gambits from the get go.
It's not gameplay, just AI programming.
>I don’t get why everyone hates the combat so much?
combat was never good in the pre-12 FF games, BUT it was paced well. In 12, you have huge stretches of doing nothing but battling and the combat system comes off as way worse for it. constantly going through menus to do even the simplest of actions is also retarded
FF12 doesn't have half the player input as any xenoblade game, except maybe the robots in X
>implying
X-2 is ATB and job system perfection.
I'm going to be honest and say I've never played X-2 due to the opening cutscene. It doesn't help that it's a motomo toriyama creation without others holding him down
It's shitposting or retards who had to use a guide to setup effective gambits and suddenly found out the game will do what they told them to do.
But even with that, it's comparable to mashing X to attack random enemies since bosses are gonna rape your ass if you plan to really use the same gambits for the whole game and never change your strategies. I bet those same people also mindlessly did sidequests to grind the moment enemies got slightly stronger.
>He thinks that the dragon warrior formula of "get big number so you have a chance against other enemy with big number" requires thought and effort
Unless you can really convince me that the rock paper scissors effectiveness system that most of them have is riveting, I disagree.
Actually my favourite game in the series.
Turn based combat without annoying random encounters.
No they did not lmao
Its my favorite FF combat system. I wish FF7R was more like it instead of anime
meant for
I myself dropped it after getting the catgirl and travelled through the plains to small village. The combat is so stiff and the fact you have to stay still to attack is retarded. Then you just spam skills when you get them.
It feels like Im doing nothing in combat
I'm glad the game understands I need at least one hand free for something else.
You're telling me you don't wait for auto attack to build enough metter (which takes 5 to 10 seconds) for you to use an ability?
XBC2's battle system is nothing more than did your ability highlight in the corner of the screen? Use it then wait another 10 seconds before another pops up.
correct, you use the final hit of your AA string to deal bonus damage and acquire more blade art followed by a cancel to your next auto attack or blade switch
Yeah XC2 combat was pretty good. I remember Torna being better though
meant to say cancel to your next art. Trying to equate XC2's combat engagement to FF12's is ridiculous, even ignoring gambit set ups
>waiting to be prompted to use an attack is good
How do you even function in real life?
